About this role

The Part-Time Back-of-House Conversions Staff member supports the Operations Department in preparing the facility for events, completing event conversions, and returning the building to its post-event configuration. This position is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient movement, setup, breakdown, and storage of equipment, furniture, event materials, and other operational assets.

This position requires a dependable team member who can work in a fast-paced event environment, follow direction, communicate effectively, and maintain a strong focus on safety and customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with event conversions, including setup and breakdown of event spaces.

• Move and position tables, chairs, barricades, stanchions, platforms, risers, equipment, and other event-related materials.

• Assist with court, floor, seating, staging, and other event setups as assigned.

• Load, unload, transport, and properly store equipment and materials.

• Operate carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and other approved equipment after receiving proper training.

• Assist with the setup and removal of event equipment in accordance with established SOPs.

• Maintain organized and safe storage areas, loading docks, back-of-house areas, and workspaces.

• Follow all facility safety policies, OSHA requirements, and department procedures.

• Attend required safety meetings, training sessions, and operational briefings.

• Communicate effectively with Operations Managers, Event Managers, full-time

staff, part-time staff, vendors, and other departments.

• Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, maintenance concerns, and other

operational issues to management.

• Assist with maintaining clean and orderly work areas before, during, and after

events.

• Support overnight and extended-hour conversions when required by the event

schedule.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management.

EVENT CONVERSION RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on the event, responsibilities may include:

• Back-of-house equipment movement

• Event-specific equipment placement

• Post-event restoration of the facility

• Seating installation and removal

• Chair cart movement and storage

• Court and flooring installation/removal

• Basketball goal and stanchion support

• Table and equipment setup

• Barricade and crowd-control equipment placement

• Stage and riser setup

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience in event operations, warehouse operations, facilities,

hospitality, construction, or a similar field preferred.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight

shifts.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Strong attention to safety and detail.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee must be able to:

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, and reach.

• Safely lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with

heavier items moved using team-lifting procedures or mechanical equipment.

• Work for extended periods while standing and walking.

• Work in varying temperatures and conditions, including loading docks, garages,

outdoor areas, and event spaces.

• Safely navigate stairs, ramps, catwalks, and back-of-house areas when required.

• Perform repetitive physical tasks during extended event conversions.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS

Safety is a core responsibility of this position. Employees are expected to:

• Follow all facility safety policies and procedures.

• Participate in required safety training.

• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Follow proper lifting and material-handling procedures.

• Immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, damaged equipment, and hazards to management.

• Never operate equipment without proper authorization and training.

• Maintain awareness of other employees, vendors, equipment, vehicles, and event activities within the work area.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a part-time, event-driven position. Work schedules will vary based on the facility’s

event calendar and operational requirements, with the position primarily working overnight

hours to support event conversions, post-event breakdowns, and facility resets.

Employees should expect the possibility of:

• Overnight and late-night shifts

• Early morning shifts as operationally required

• Weekend and holiday work

• Extended shifts during major events

• Schedule adjustments based on event needs and facility operations

• Additional hours during periods of high event volume
