Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to support a growing manufacturing operation focused on engineered products, fabricated components, electronics, and custom hardware assemblies. This individual will serve as a critical link between suppliers, engineering, production, inventory, and program teams to ensure materials are sourced, purchased, and delivered in alignment with operational and customer commitments.
The ideal candidate is a proactive supply chain professional who can manage the entire procurement lifecycle, develop strong supplier relationships, and support both commercial off-the-shelf and custom-manufactured products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Source and procure materials, components, assemblies, and services required to support production and program schedules.
Manage supplier relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for cost, lead time, delivery, and performance discussions.
Evaluate supplier capabilities to identify the best manufacturing partners for custom and engineered components.
Request, review, and analyze supplier quotations while negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
Issue and manage purchase orders from placement through receipt and closeout.
Work closely with production planners to ensure purchased materials align with manufacturing requirements and timelines.
Monitor supplier commitments and proactively resolve shortages, delays, quality concerns, and delivery issues.
Support procurement of fabricated metal components, machined parts, electronics, networking equipment, and custom assemblies.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and part requirements to ensure accurate sourcing and purchasing decisions.
Coordinate return material authorizations (RMAs), corrective actions, and supplier issue resolution.
Maintain purchasing, supplier, and material records within ERP systems.
Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance, reduce lead times, lower costs, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Support supplier qualification and vendor management initiatives.
Track and report procurement KPIs including supplier performance, delivery metrics, and cost savings opportunities.

Technical Procurement Expertise
Experience managing the full procurement lifecycle from sourcing through receipt and supplier performance management.
Ability to balance cost, quality, lead time, and program requirements when making purchasing decisions.
Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and expedite critical material requirements.
Supplier & Commodity Management
Experience developing and maintaining relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
Ability to evaluate supplier capabilities, manufacturing capacity, and technical competencies.
Experience supporting strategic sourcing initiatives and identifying alternative suppliers to reduce supply chain risk.
Familiarity with commodity management principles and category-based procurement.
Manufacturing & Supply Chain Knowledge
Understanding of production scheduling and how procurement decisions impact manufacturing operations.
Experience supporting custom-designed products in addition to commercial off-the-shelf components.
Knowledge of inventory management principles, material flow, and supply chain operations.
Familiarity with procurement support for prototype, development, and production environments.
Engineering & Product Support
Ability to work closely with engineering teams on new product introductions and design changes.
Experience sourcing materials and components from engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Understanding of revision-controlled environments and engineering change processes.
Exposure to fabricated metal components, electronic assemblies, networking hardware, or electromechanical systems.
ERP & Systems Experience
Experience utilizing ERP platforms for purchasing, supplier management, inventory visibility, and reporting.
Ability to maintain accurate procurement data and purchasing records.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
