Join Lenovo’s Solutions & Services Group (SSG) as a Senior Backend Engineer and help build next-generation enterprise software platforms powered by cloud, data, and AI technologies. You will design scalable backend services, develop modern microservices, and contribute to high-performance, business-critical applications used by customers worldwide.

Working closely with global engineering teams, you’ll be involved in cloud-native development, real-time data platforms, and AI-enabled solutions while solving complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.

You will report directly to the Director, Strategic Software Engineering & Site Leader, playing an important role in shaping Lenovo’s growing software and AI ecosystem.

What You Will Do:

- Build and enhance core platform features by turning product requirements into scalable, high-quality backend solutions that support real business needs.
- Develop modern microservices using Java and the Spring ecosystem, creating reliable, secure, and high-performing applications that can grow with the business.
- Design smart system architectures and data models, ensuring applications are efficient, scalable, and easy to maintain as the platform evolves.
- Work closely with database specialists to create and optimize PostgreSQL structures, improving data accuracy, performance, and long-term scalability.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, including service disruptions, system exceptions, and API/interface problems, helping keep the platform running smoothly.
- Monitor and maintain platform health by using logging, debugging, and monitoring tools to proactively identify risks and ensure system stability.
- Drive performance improvements through code optimization, database tuning, and configuration of technologies such as RabbitMQ and Redis to deliver the best possible user experience.
- Support AI-powered application development by integrating AI/ML services, inference APIs, and LLM-driven workflows into enterprise solutions. You'll also gain exposure to modern AI technologies and integration patterns, with experience in NVIDIA AI technologies such as NIMs, Triton Inference Server, Metropolis, and DeepStream considered a strong advantage.

What You Will Bring:

- 8+ years of proven professional experience in backend software engineering, with a strong track record of building and supporting large-scale, enterprise-grade applications and distributed systems.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, combined with a solid understanding of software development best practices.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java development, including multithreading, collections, concurrency concepts, JVM performance tuning, and designing highly efficient backend services.
- Extensive experience working with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architectures, building scalable cloud-native applications that can support high volumes of users and data.
- Deep knowledge of modern backend technologies and infrastructure, including PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes, with experience deploying and managing applications in containerized environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, along with the ability to automate deployments, improve development workflows, and maintain reliable software delivery processes. Experience with AI-assisted coding and development tools is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of real-time and event-driven architectures, including designing streaming data pipelines and working with technologies such as Kafka, MQTT, or other messaging platforms. Experience handling telemetry, sensor, IoT, or operational event data at scale is highly valued.
- Ability to integrate complex enterprise ecosystems by connecting third-party APIs, business platforms, and operational systems into unified backend services. Exposure to video metadata processing, computer vision solutions, or AI-generated event data platforms is a plus, along with excellent problem-solving, learning agility, and teamwork skills.
