The anticipated salary range for this role is between $85,000.00 and $100,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
The Fund Finance Portfolio Management Analyst position falls within SMBC’s Credit Portfolio Management (“CPM”) vertical, and supports the Bank's Fund Finance Solutions Department ("FFSD"). While the Analyst will have the opportunity to assist with a myriad of different PM functions, the primary responsibility is overseeing FFSD’s Loan Approval process, a critical control designed to prevent client over advances.
In addition to developing a strong technical knowledge base around portfolio management, the analyst will develop a deep understanding of multiple fund finance products, centered around the core subscription finance offering. The Analyst will also learn banking best practices and industry trends/developments from a market-leading Fund Finance team.
The ideal candidate would have an interest in developing a career in banking with a focus on portfolio management. The candidate would be eager to join a highly competitive team in one of the fastest-growing areas of finance.

- Responsible for ensuring borrowing availability on subscription secured and NAV facilities and approving draw requests from clients
- Reconcile collateral values supplied by clients vs the last known values within FFSD’s collateral management database
- Place and manage facility blocks in the event of collateral shortfalls
- Liaise with and escalate issues to deal coverage and loan operations teams
- Help prepare internal and external presentations for senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies

- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
- Knowledge of basic corporate finance, banking, and accounting
- Familiarity with corporate banking, bank regulations, risk and compliance factors and regulatory matters a plus
