Senior Application Engineer – Digital Audio & Signal Solutions
The Application Team of the Digital Audio and Signal Solutions division (MDRF/RFOC Subgroup) is selecting a Senior Engineer to support its strategy for growth.
The selected candidate will join a highly skilled, cross-functional team working on advanced solutions including Automotive Infotainment Systems, Audio Amplifiers, Radio Tuners, and Communication ICs for Electric Vehicles.
Role Overview
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will play a key technical role in bridging product development and customer adoption. You will drive system-level integration, validation, and optimization, while acting as a trusted technical interface for both internal stakeholders and strategic customers.
You will contribute across the full product lifecycle—from concept and development to customer deployment—ensuring high-quality, competitive, and scalable solutions.
You will work with System Architectures and Technical Marketing teams to define products and to enable proof of concept demonstrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HW/SW integration and system validation for complex embedded automotive and industrial platforms
- Drive application design, performance optimization, and benchmarking against competitors
- Own customer technical support activities, including on-site debugging and issue resolution
- Develop application boards, prototypes, and reference designs
- Produce high-quality application documentation (Application Notes, guidelines, best practices)
- Define and execute functional, electrical, and system-level validation plans
- Collaborate closely with R&D (HW/SW), System Architecture, and Technical Marketing teams
- Engage with customers and Field Application Engineers (FAEs) to ensure successful product adoption
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- Strong expertise across several of the following domains: Analog/digital hardware debugging , lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum and protocol analyzers, etc.) and measurement techniques
- Smart Power, RF, and/or Audio systems
- Embedded systems and microprocessors
- Firmware development (C language) and embedded OS (Linux, FreeRTOS)
- Communication protocols (SPI, I2C, I2S, CAN, Ethernet)
- Proven experience with: Software toolchains and advanced debugging (e.g., Lauterbach or similar tools)
- Board design, bring-up, and prototyping
- System-level validation and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of Automotive Infotainment, Audio, or Industrial systems
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work autonomously
- Production of high-quality technical documentation
- Fluent in Business English
Nice-to-Have Skills
- FPGA development using Xilinx Vivado
- Knowledge of VHDL or Verilog
- Scripting Languages (Python, Shell scripts) and test automation methodologies
- Experience with high-speed interfaces or advanced audio architectures
- Exposure to automotive standards andcompliance requirements

Location
The role is based in Agrate or Cornaredo (Italy), with flexibility depending on team needs.

The expected salary range for this position is € 45,000 – €55,000 gross annual salary (RAL), plus variable pay relevant for the role.
In accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive and applicable Italian legislation, this compensation range has been determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, including job responsibilities, required skills, relevant experience, qualifications, and market benchmarks. Placement within the range will depend on the candidate’s profile and demonstrated competencies. The final offer will be made in compliance with the applicable National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL), where relevant, and our internal compensation policies.
