Summary
Clinical Informatics Coordinator 3 performs as liaison between Information Technology Department and Clinical/Business areas. Facilitate and collaborate with subject matter experts and work teams that define how the system-wide Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other electronic systems will function to effectively support JHS clinical and business processes.
Responsibilities
- Guide subject matter experts (SME) in achieving successful outcomes through structured problem solving and implementation of recommendation.
- Promote a strategy of standardization and optimization of quality, safety and cost efficiency by communication and identification of problem areas that require attention, and report to appropriate supervisor or administrative staff.
- Serve as knowledge expert on use of Clinical and/or Business System workflows and design methodologies by participating in committees and workgroups as assigned.
- Serve as a conduit between IT and Clinical and/or Business System Teams and work collaboratively in efforts to effectively use systems and maximize their adoption and optimization.
- Shadow end-users to understand workflow and find areas of inefficiencies.
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings; actively participate and arrive to all meetings on time.
- Develop and provide presentations that support system implementation and increase of system adoption and optimization.
- Perform knowledge transfer of pertinent information to staff using an approved communication method. (e.g., provide just in time training or provide formal training sessions as needed).
- Routinely conduct rounds in areas of coverage and positively serve as Informatics representative.
- Develop and maintain reporting of daily, weekly activities as directed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience
- Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of Epic workflows across modules; Epic certification, accreditation, or proficiency in at least one clinical application (e.g., ClinDoc, Orders, ASAP, Stork, Willow, Ambulatory) strongly preferred.
- Experience in a hospital or health system using Epic across multiple modules, including multi-hospital or academic medical center environments strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, CMS, eCQMs) preferred.
- Experience with Epic data and reporting tools (Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar dashboards) and adoption analytics (Signal) preferred.
- Experience with ambient AI clinical documentation platforms (e.g., DAX Copilot/Abridge), including deployment metrics, consent workflows, and adoption analytics. Project-management training or certification, or formal training in process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) or change management (PROSCI/ADKAR) preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and/or coursework from an accredited college/university, professional nursing, medicine, physician assistant program, military or other training in information systems preferred.
- Master's degree (MSN, MHI, MHA, MPH, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
Credentials
- Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
- Board certification in informatics strongly preferred: ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification (RN-BC/NI-BC), CAHIMS/CPHIMS, or AMIA Health Informatics Certification (ACHIP).
