SB Energy also leverages a strong culture of innovation to identify and integrate new technologies into its projects, including its AI-based digital platform, delivering energy infrastructure that is local, reliable, and matched to load. We are building the energy and infrastructure future—today.
Come join us in accelerating the energy and infrastructure transition!
Basic Function
As a member of the Data Center Supply Chain team, the Senior Program Manager, Site Logistics will protect the condition, custody, location, and availability of owner-furnished, contractor-installed (OFCI) equipment across outsourced storage and documented site handoff. This role leads facility and inventory controls, preservation execution, storage release, and logistics site-readiness coordination. The role connects provider execution to construction demand, reducing the risk of hidden damage, lost inventory, unnecessary rehandling, and failed delivery. Engineering approves technical requirements; Construction retains site control, receiving acknowledgment, and installation responsibility.
SB Energy is building a procurement team under a common role profile, bringing together complementary electrical, mechanical, commercial, and logistics strengths. Within this team, this role focuses on inventory management, equipment storage, and site logistics. The manager may lead logistics activities for an individual project, manage logistics requirements for equipment packages across multiple projects, or lead a shared logistics or planning assignment.
Assignments may evolve as projects advance, workloads shift, and business priorities change. The manager is expected to contribute beyond their primary area, including broader procurement, sourcing, supplier development, or planning assignments, based on relevant experience, equipment knowledge, readiness, workload, and appropriate specialist support. Each manager maintains clear ownership of assigned responsibilities, cross-trains colleagues, and provides structured handoffs and backup coverage.
Candidates must demonstrate depth in inventory management, equipment storage, and site logistics, together with the flexibility and willingness to build capability across the broader function. Candidates are not expected to be specialists in every electrical, mechanical, commercial, or logistics discipline.
Responsibilities
- Storage Network and Capacity: Own the operating relationship with one warehouse/storage provider across qualified facilities, with inventory-system/WMS access and dashboards. Plan capacity against equipment needs, site sequence, dwell, cost and contingencies. Qualify each facility with Engineering, EHS, Security and Risk/Insurance before use; verify OEM preservation and local handling requirements.
- Receiving and Inventory: Direct third-party logistics providers in equipment identification, receipt, inspection, condition photographs, serial and location tracking, quarantine, cycle counts, and release. Reconcile physical counts and warehouse management system records to equipment and purchase order identifiers; obtain independent approval for inventory adjustments and write-offs.
- Preservation and Condition: Implement OEM- and Engineering-approved preservation and warranty-care requirements through qualified providers. Track inspections, environmental records, due dates, and evidence. Escalate overdue work or condition defects and obtain Engineering approval for technical deviations.
- Storage Release and Site Readiness: Coordinate inbound appointments and outbound release with Transportation and the Control Tower. Maintain required storage receipt, site call-off, required/actual storage dispatch and site receipt as separate events. Obtain designated site confirmation of access, laydown, unloading, approved rigging, receiving ownership and the delivery window. Transportation authorizes dispatch after applicable gates clear.
- Custody and Handoff: Own the consolidated logistics handoff record, including quantity, condition, location, proof of delivery, signed receiving acknowledgment, and open discrepancies. Provide purchase-order-line receipt evidence to the designated receiving or ERP owner; technical acceptance and invoice approval remain with their authorized owners.
- Incidents and Disposition: Lead storage-incident investigation and track discrepancies, damage, quarantine, and warehouse claims evidence and notices with Legal and Risk/Insurance. Coordinate returns, repair, redeployment, surplus, and disposal after designated technical, commercial, and financial approvals.
- Provider and Cost Management: Manage the warehouse/storage provider’s qualified facilities, preservation, handling, inventory access, dashboards and evidence against approved scope, rates, insurance and service levels. Define custody boundaries with transport and rigging providers; validate billed services and provide dwell, rehandling, commitments and accrual inputs to Finance.
- Records and Performance: Maintain inventory, custody, condition, preservation, release, handoff, and cost records in the approved OFCI register with the Control Tower. Identify authoritative transaction records and reconcile provider feeds. Lead provider reviews, corrective actions, continuity planning, and capacity recommendations.
- Controls and Improvement: Apply common supply chain controls, maintain operational storage and handoff playbooks, and provide evidence and proposed improvements to Supply Chain Governance and Assurance. Coordinate field execution with named provider and site resources and escalate coverage gaps to the Director.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, engineering, construction management, business, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years directly owning warehouse, inventory, material-handling, or site-logistics operations for high-value, heavy, sensitive, or long-lead equipment.
- Experience qualifying and managing third-party facilities and warehouse systems, including receiving, inventory transactions, counts, reconciliation, aging, and outbound release.
- Experience implementing preservation, condition, custody, quarantine, discrepancy, and claims-support controls for industrial or comparable equipment.
- Experience coordinating construction or industrial site readiness, access, laydown, unloading and rigging interfaces, delivery sequencing, receiving, and handoff.
- Strong provider performance management, inventory data skills, and cross-functional judgment under schedule, condition, capacity, safety, and cost pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data center, power, energy, EPC, semiconductor, utility, or comparable infrastructure experience with large electrical or mechanical equipment.
- Experience launching outsourced warehouses or laydown yards, industrial preservation programs, heavy handling, or relevant bonded and foreign-trade-zone operations.
- Experience with WMS/ERP systems, provider data feeds, and reporting tools; relevant inventory, logistics, project-management, or continuous-improvement certification.
Travel: Estimated 25% travel.
