ROLE

Dolce & Gabbana offers an exciting opportunity for an Associate Buyer to play a key role in the development, selection, and management of assortments across North America. This position has increased ownership of the business, supporting the development and execution of product strategies that reflect Brand direction, regional client needs, and commercial objectives.

The Associate Buyer partners closely with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Retail, Wholesale, and HQ cross-functional teams and is responsible for driving portions of the business from seasonal buying through in-season management. The role requires a strong combination of product instinct, analytical capability, commercial awareness, and cross-functional leadership.

The Associate Buyer is expected to independently identify opportunities and risks, recommend actions, and take ownership of key categories, classifications, or business initiatives while supporting the broader strategy and performance of the category.

MISSION

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to) :

Seasonal Buying & Assortment Management

- Take ownership of designated categories, classifications, or areas of the business throughout the seasonal buying process.

- Partner with the Buyer and Merchandising leadership to develop seasonal assortments, determining style selection, depth, quantities, and product mix based on financial objectives, historical performance, client demand, and Brand direction.

- Participate actively in seasonal markets and buying sessions, developing a clear point of view and making recommendations on assortment opportunities and risks.

- Develop store and regional assortment recommendations based on productivity, client profiles, store feedback, climate, market dynamics, and historical performance.

- Manage buy tools, order entry, assortment plans, line sheets, and seasonal recaps, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

- Identify opportunities to maximize regional relevance while maintaining alignment with the global collection and Brand strategy.

- Partner with Planning and Allocation to ensure buys are appropriately balanced against sales plans, inventory objectives, and store capacity.

In‑Season Product Management

- Own weekly analysis of assigned categories, identifying opportunities, risks, and recommended actions.

- Analyze sales, sell-through, inventory, weeks of supply, and product productivity.

- Drive recommendations for reorders, replenishment, transfers, and stock consolidation.

- Partner with Planning and Allocation to optimize inventory and maximize business opportunities.

Merchandising Support & Store Partnership

- Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Retail, Wholesale, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Supply Chain, and HQ teams.

- Represent assigned categories in business reviews, assortment discussions, and cross-functional meetings.

- Support store openings, events, product launches, and other strategic regional initiatives.

- Provide guidance and support to Assistant Buyers and junior team members.

Market & Business Analysis

- Monitor luxury market trends, competitive assortments, pricing, and client preferences.

- Own weekly and monthly reporting for assigned categories, highlighting wins, risks, and opportunities.

- Lead portions of seasonal hindsight and post-mortem analysis to inform future buying decisions.

- Present business insights and recommendations to Merchandising leadership and cross-functional partners.

PROFILE

- 4–6+ years of experience in Buying, Merchandising, or Planning within luxury or premium fashion.

- Demonstrated experience managing a category or meaningful portion of a business.

- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency and knowledge of retail KPIs.

- Strong product sensibility and commercial understanding of the luxury client.

- Ability to translate business performance into clear recommendations and actions.

- Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional partnership skills.

- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership and accountability.

- Ability to balance Brand vision, product instinct, and commercial objectives.

The salary rate for this role ranges from $70,000 – $80,000 and eligible for variable commission. Additionally, we offer the opportunity to take part in our comprehensive benefits program which includes: medical, dental, vision, life & disability insurances, 401(k) plan, FSA plans, and more. The total compensation amount for a candidate is based on factors including educational background, professional experience, and industry knowledge.
