Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 / year (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Reports To: Controller
Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to partner with the Controller at a premier, multi-site steel fabrication and manufacturing company. This key role owns day-to-day general ledger operations, inventory/job costing, financial reporting, and close processes while helping modernize workflows and prepare for a future ERP implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Close & GL: Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close; prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
Costing & Inventory: Own inventory accounting, cycle counts, standard/job costing, WIP accounting, and variance analysis (labor, scrap, material) alongside plant operations.
Controls & Process Improvement: Strengthen internal controls, build audit-ready documentation, and assist with external audit/tax preparations.
Systems & Analytics: Analyze manufacturing data, maintain advanced Excel models, and help clean/standardize data for transition from QuickBooks to an ERP.
FP&A & Backup: Assist with budgeting, cash reporting, fixed assets, and KPI reporting while providing day-to-day guidance to junior staff.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong background in manufacturing (inventory, standard costing, job costing, or WIP).
Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel capabilities and solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Software: QuickBooks experience required; prior ERP implementation or conversion experience preferred.
Industry Focus: Experience in steel fabrication, industrial manufacturing, or multi-site privately held businesses is a major plus.
