We’re seeking a Senior Assistant General Counsel – Privacy, Data Innovation & Protection to serve as senior attorney-leader and people manager within the Chief Privacy Officer’s organization. Reporting directly to the CPO, this lawyer will drive Intuit’s legal strategy and program leadership across three mission-critical pillars: Data Innovation, First-Party Data Analytics & Product Development, and Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs).
This role requires a strategic legal leader with expert subject-matter depth in privacy and a pragmatic approach to operationalizing emerging legal and regulatory requirements. The Sr. AGC will provide legal counsel to product, engineering, marketing, and data science teams; own the legal framework for adtech governance, first-party data strategy, data innovation, and privacy-enhancing technologies; manage a team of privacy professionals; and represent Intuit externally before regulators, industry bodies, and data protection authorities.
The ideal candidate will be a practicing attorney with a technology background, expert fluency in data protection law as applied to product development, and a track record of enabling responsible data innovation at scale. The selected candidate will be seated within Intuit’s world-class Law, Compliance and Policy Organization (LCPO).

You will engage credibly with engineering teams on system architecture, evaluate PETs vendor claims, and assess the legal implications of data product design decisions. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Active bar admission and eligibility to practice law in the jurisdiction where the role is located; eligible to obtain any multi-jurisdictional license required to support in-house practice in California or the applicable state.
- JD from an accredited law school; undergraduate or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field is highly valued.
- 10+ years of experience practicing privacy and data protection law in-house or at a top firm, with at least 5 years in a technology or FinTech company.
- Expert working knowledge of CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, GLBA, FTC Act Section 5, FCRA, and applicable state financial and biometric privacy laws; working knowledge of CIPA, PIPEDA, HIPAA, and emerging comprehensive state statutes.
- Substantive experience advising on adtech privacy law: consent management platforms, tracking technology compliance, identity resolution governance, data clean room legal frameworks, and digital advertising regulatory requirements (DMA, IAB TCF, GPC, ePrivacy).
- Proven ability to counsel engineering and product teams on Privacy by Design, data minimization, purpose limitation, and lawful basis for processing across the full product development lifecycle.
- Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data processing agreements, data clean room contracts, data sharing agreements, and commercial agreements with material privacy components.
- Working knowledge of at least two privacy-enhancing technologies (e.g., differential privacy, federated learning, synthetic data generation, homomorphic encryption, SMPC, or tokenization) sufficient to provide legal analysis on their regulatory treatment and contractual implications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop legal and non-legal privacy professionals; proven track record building team culture and developing talent in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to engage in detailed analysis of data-driven products and AI/ML systems to assess global privacy and regulatory risk, and to translate complex legal requirements into forward-looking, actionable policies and frameworks.
- Commitment to diversity, self-awareness, empathy, and intellectual curiosity; proven ability to mentor and develop talent and create an atmosphere of team trust and support.
- IAPP certification: CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, or AIGP strongly preferred.
- Experience in FinTech or financial services, and technical background (CS/engineering undergraduate or advanced degree) are strong differentiators.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
Mountain View $271,500 - $367,500
New York $243,000- $328,500
San Diego, CA $264,500- $357,500
