POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Lifecycle Manager leads cross-functional execution across new product introduction, material changes, portfolio optimization, and product discontinuation in Empower Pharmacy’s hyper-growth, highly regulated 503A/503B environment. This role owns the NPI stage-gate process from stability testing through commercial launch, ensuring alignment across Supply Chain, R&D, Production, Quality, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Medical Affairs, IT, and Pharmacy. The manager chairs the Material Review Board, drives disciplined project planning, and guides materials management decisions involving planning, forecasting, and master data. Success requires strategic thinking, execution rigor, sound judgment, and learning agility to balance launch timelines, operational readiness, compliance, and business value. The role also strengthens decision-making through structured data analysis and approved AI-enabled tools that improve workflow efficiency while preserving human accountability, validation, and regulatory controls across critical product lifecycle decisions and execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Launch Leadership

- Launch Planning : Own development and execution of NPI project plans from stability testing through commercial launch, ensuring stage-gate deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and business readiness remain aligned.

- Cross Functional : Lead cross-functional teams across material setup, procurement, production scheduling, sales forecasting, marketing, medical affairs, and system readiness to deliver coordinated product introductions.

- Transfer Execution : Direct tech transfer planning and execution through the NPI stage-gate process, resolving cross-functional constraints and ensuring required activities are completed before commercial launch.

Material Change Governance

- MRB Leadership : Chair the Material Review Board program, driving timely decisions on new suppliers, materials, and proposed changes before implementation within quality and supply chain systems.

- Change Control : Coordinate planning, review, and approval of supplier and material changes, ensuring dependencies, documentation, system updates, and implementation requirements are clearly assigned and completed.

- R&D Liaison : Act as primary liaison between R&D and Supply Chain for pipeline planning, reformulation execution, BOM management, and identification of new material requirements.

Portfolio And Planning

- Portfolio Optimization : Lead product portfolio optimization initiatives with Sales and Finance, using structured analysis to support product rationalization decisions and align resources with business priorities.

- Discontinuation Management : Own cyclical product discontinuation planning and execution, coordinating Marketing, Sales, IT, Production, Pharmacy, and Quality to manage dependencies and implementation timelines.

- S&OP Alignment : Facilitate weekly and monthly S&OP discussions, prioritizing product launches and aligning Sales, Marketing, and Operations around strategic priorities, capacity considerations, and timelines.

Team And Operational Leadership

- Materials Leadership : Guide the Materials Management team during high-demand periods, supporting planning, forecasting, and master data decisions that maintain operational continuity and disciplined execution.

- Team Development : Lead and develop direct reports through clear expectations, coaching, accountability, and performance feedback while building adaptable project and materials management capability.

- Decision Support : Use Salesforce, Excel, Power BI, project management tools, and approved AI capabilities to streamline workflow analysis, surface risks, and support timely lifecycle decisions.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

- Strong expertise in NPI, stage-gate product launches, tech transfers, materials management, supply planning, portfolio optimization, and product discontinuation execution.

- Advanced project management skills with ability to coordinate cross-functional dependencies, manage competing priorities, maintain accountability, and adapt execution plans as conditions change.

- Skilled in Salesforce, Excel, Power BI, Jira or Smartsheet, and Office applications for project tracking, analysis, reporting, and workflow coordination.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills for chairing governance forums, aligning stakeholders, navigating complexity, and translating business priorities into executable lifecycle plans.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

- 7-10 years of relevant Supply Chain or Project Management experience, including significant responsibility for materials management, planning, or project execution required.

- At least five years of supervisory leadership experience guiding teams, maintaining accountability, developing capability, and supporting execution in dynamic operating environments required,

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, life sciences, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

- Experience leading new product introductions within the life sciences sector using stage-gate processes and coordinating cross-functional activities through commercial launch required.

- CSCP, CPIM, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma, or similar certification demonstrating additional expertise in supply chain, project management, or continuous improvement preferred.
