Your Role
We are seeking a seasoned and decisive Plant Quality Manager to lead our quality operations. This leadership role is responsible for driving a culture of quality, ensuring our products meet the highest standards, and acting as the primary point of contact for all quality-related matters. You will be a key leader in ensuring both process excellence and customer satisfaction.
Crucially, this role carries the authority to halt production or shipping processes as necessary to prevent non-conforming product from reaching our customers, thereby protecting the company's integrity and brand reputation.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the entire quality function at the plant level, guiding the team to meet all internal and external quality processes and procedures.
- Manage all departmental resources to ensure the team has the adequate capacity and capability to meet business needs and quality standards.
- Guide, coach, and hold the quality team accountable for their performance, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Set and manage departmental objectives and KPIs for the quality team, reporting on performance and identifying required actions to achieve targets.
- Lead plant activities to achieve excellence towards VOC, Customer Scorecards, Cost of Poor Quality and Warranty Management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, documentation, and procedures across all manufacturing operations.
- Chair regular quality review meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to analyze metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all quality activities are conducted in compliance with established health, safety, and environmental policies.
Process & Customer Quality
- Serve as the first point of escalation for all customer quality issues , acting as the primary liaison between the plant and the customer to ensure a rapid and effective response.
- Champion and drive a culture of continuous quality improvement across the entire plant.
- Oversee all problem-solving activities, utilizing structured methodologies like the 8D process to perform root cause analysis and implement robust corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the Supplier Quality Assurance function to effectively reduce the impact of non-conforming supplier materials on production quality.
- Oversee and support the deployment of core quality processes and tools, including PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, PCP , and SPC .
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks to proactively identify and mitigate potential quality issues.
Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience as an automotive plant quality manager
- Proven experience in leading problem-solving activities and applying quality tools ( 8D, SPC, MSA, FMEA, etc. ).
- Strong understanding and experience with Quality Management Systems ( IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple customer requirements, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- 100% fluency in business English is required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel
- Proficiency in quality-related software and tools (e.g., Minitab, statistical analysis software)
- Other desirable qualifications: Toyota Production System (TPS) or Lean, or WCM, IATF Lead Auditor, VDA 6.3 Quality Auditor
