Position Summary
Riverside Metro Auto Group is seeking an experienced Volkswagen Technician to join our Service Department. We are looking for a skilled, dependable automotive professional with strong diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and experience servicing and repairing Volkswagen vehicles. The ideal candidate takes pride in performing quality repairs, works efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment, and is committed to providing a high level of service to our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair Volkswagen vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake services, fluid services, inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, HVAC, and other vehicle systems.
- Utilize Volkswagen diagnostic equipment and manufacturer resources to accurately identify vehicle concerns.
- Complete repairs efficiently and accurately while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify additional maintenance or repair needs.
- Clearly document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts used, and recommendations on repair orders.
- Communicate with Service Advisors and management regarding vehicle status, repair recommendations, and additional work needed.
- Perform warranty repairs in accordance with Volkswagen policies and procedures.
- Complete required Volkswagen manufacturer training and maintain applicable certifications.
- Follow all dealership safety procedures, policies, and manufacturer requirements.
- Participate in ongoing technical training to remain current with Volkswagen technology, including electrical and electronic systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Previous professional automotive technician experience required.
- Volkswagen dealership or Volkswagen/Audi repair experience strongly preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, engine, transmission, brake, steering, and suspension systems.
- Volkswagen manufacturer certifications are highly preferred.
- ASE certifications are preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, technical service bulletins, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing repairs correctly the first time.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must have or be able to obtain the tools necessary to perform assigned automotive repairs.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in and around vehicles for extended periods. The technician must be able to safely lift and move automotive parts, tools, tires, and equipment as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Schedule
Full-time position. Schedule may include Saturdays based on the needs of the Service Department.
