This is a Redmond, WA or Mountain View, CA based position, with an expectation that you will be available to collaborate in person on campus. </p></div><div><p> </p></div><div><p>This role will focus on Microsoft Discovery’s alliances and partnerships - including strategy and engagements across academic and research institutions, industry partners, and independent software vendors (ISV). In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, designers, scientists, and researchers to build new product experiences, shape underlying AI capabilities that support these experiences, and foster a culture of innovation and high-craft product making.</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Help define and drive Microsoft Discovery’s academic and research strategy, including identifying priority research scenarios, building strategic relationships, and defining engagement plans and measures of success.</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Support and expand ongoing engagements with academic institutions and research and innovation partners, aligning on shared goals, coordinating execution, and removing barriers to adoption.</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Personally implement proof-of-concept solutions, sample tools, connectors and AI agents that demonstrate partner scenarios and help partners get started with Microsoft Discovery. Turn successful approaches into reusable examples and technical guidance.</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>Drive ISV tool onboarding into Microsoft Discovery, working hands-on with partner developers an,d internal engineering teams to prototype integrations, troubleshoot technical issues, and validate end-to-end scientific workflows.</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>You will scale Product Marketing teams by building marketing and roll-out plans, as well as leading the creation of customer support plans. You’ll also take advantage of major opportunities to promote the feature areas you worked on and present at large events.</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><span>As an expert, you will partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs in order to improve product development in multiple areas. You’ll also identify features to deprecate, manage customer communities, and build trust with targeted customers across sectors.</span><span> </span></p></li></ul></div><br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><div><div><p><strong>Required/minimum qualifications</strong> </p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development<ul><li>OR equivalent experience. </li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Other Requirements:</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: <ul style="list-style-type: circle;"><li>Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. </li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Preferred qualifications</strong></p></div><div><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management OR software development<ul><li>OR equivalent experience. </li></ul></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p>Experience leading academic or research partnerships and translating partner needs into product priorities, joint delivery plans, and sustained adoption. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p>Experience onboarding third-party software tools through APIs, SDKs, or agent integrations, including hands-on prototyping and technical enablement for external developers. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p>4+ years’ experience shipping production-ready code in a collaborative process </p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p>Experience as a full stack builder </p></li></ul></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p>Experience developing with the latest AI-assisted development tools and systems </p></li></ul></div></div> <br><br><p>Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. </p><p></p> <p>Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
