Production Planner

Job Title: Production Planner Job Description The SAP S/4HANA Production Planner will play a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations by managing the creation, release, maintenance, and closure of production work orders within SAP S/4HANA. This position requires a highly detail-oriented individual with prior hands-on experience in work order management activities in an SAP environment. The specialist will ensure work order accuracy, resolve variances, address inventory and storage-location issues, and support efficient production execution. Responsibilities

- Create, release, update, and close production work orders in SAP S/4HANA.
- Investigate and resolve work order variances, including material consumption discrepancies.
- Process inventory transfers and storage location adjustments necessary for work order execution.
- Review work order status and ensure transactions are completed accurately and on time.
- Support manufacturing operations by maintaining accurate system data and documentation.
- Collaborate with production, manufacturing, and planning personnel to ensure smooth workflow execution.
- Interface regularly with the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, and SIOP/Scheduling team.
- Follow site-specific SOPs and work instructions while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Contribute to the timely completion of work orders and overall operational efficiency.

Essential Skills

- 3+ years of experience supporting manufacturing operations in a production environment.
- Hands-on SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) experience.
- Experience owning production orders from release through completion.
- Experience releasing production orders and monitoring order progress.
- Experience issuing materials/components to production jobs.
- Experience performing material availability reviews and resolving shortages.
- Experience verifying labor reporting against production orders.
- Experience closing production/work orders and resolving exceptions.
- Strong understanding of production flow, scheduling, and manufacturing execution.

Work Environment The position is 100% onsite at the Libertyville facility, located on the manufacturing floor rather than in a traditional office setting. The environment is standard manufacturing with heating and air conditioning, maintaining moderate temperatures year-round. It is a fast-paced environment driven by significant business growth and increasing production demands. SAP S/4HANA is the primary system used. The work hours are from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, fully onsite, five days a week. The team consists of approximately 32 floor employees, and the role will work closely with the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, and SIOP/Scheduling resource

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
