Our client in Boise, ID is currently hiring for a Field Service Engineer. This position supports semiconductor facilities by ensuring critical water treatment and waste-processing systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. The role combines field service, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment startup, and customer support while offering minimal travel compared to most field service opportunities. Pay - Competitive compensation (Depending on years of experience, commissioning experience, semiconductor industry exposure, technical expertise, and relevant field service experience) Location - Boise, ID Schedule - Standard Monday-Friday (Full-time) with approximately 11% travel to local semiconductor customer sites (Responsibilities) Perform field service installations, commissioning activities, equipment startup, and maintenance support. Conduct routine facility rounds to verify equipment and systems are operating properly. Monitor system performance, alarms, and operating parameters. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related equipment issues. Install, replace, and maintain consumable components and filtration systems. Review technical drawings, blueprints, plans, and specifications for service and commissioning activities. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and subassemblies. Collect and analyze water samples to verify system performance and water quality. Load and unload chemicals safely in accordance with established procedures. Complete maintenance logs, service reports, repair records, and warranty documentation. Enter operational data into reporting systems and maintain accurate records and spreadsheets. Interface directly with customers to support operations and resolve technical concerns. Collaborate with engineering, project management, production, sales, and leadership teams. Maintain warehouse inventory, parts storage areas, and defective parts return processes. Perform routine safety inspections and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to efficiency, workflow, and cost reduction. (Qualification Requirements) Experience performing field service installations, commissioning, and electrical wiring. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, plans, and specifications. Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems. Strong maintenance and repair experience in an industrial, manufacturing, utility, semiconductor, HVAC, water treatment, or similar environment. Proficiency using computers for documentation, reporting, and data entry. Strong communication skills with customers and internal teams. Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence. Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams. (Disqualifiers) No experience with field service, commissioning, installation, or maintenance activities. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
