Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Do you have an eye for detail and take pride in getting things right the first time?
We're looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Pavements team based at our Wainui depot. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our projects meet quality, safety and compliance standards while supporting the successful delivery maintenance works across the network.
Working closely with Engineers, Forepersons and delivery teams, you'll help maintain quality documentation, monitor site conditions and provide valuable insights that contribute to high-quality outcomes for our customers.
You will also:
- Ensure Contract Quality Plans, ITP's and other project documentation meet contract requirements
- Complete quality assurance and quality control records, including Data Dockets, Weather Data, RAMM data and DJR's
- Monitor weather and site conditions, including road temperature, humidity and air temperature, to support effective decision-making
- Calculate and manage material quantities to ensure compliance with customer specifications
- Identify and communicate quality or compliance concerns to the Contract Engineer and Foreperson
- Support the implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures across all activities
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based from our Wainui depot.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience within a roading, surfacing or construction environment (highly regarded)
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and data
- The ability to conduct basic risk assessments relevant to construction operations
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team-focused approach
- Good numerical skills and confidence working with quantities and construction-related data
- Experience entering and maintaining data accurately and within required timeframes
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and continuously improve
- An engineering qualification is desirable, but not essential
