Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer to join the Gas Compressor Engineering (GCE) team to support Model-Based Definition (MBD) adoption, compressor product development, legacy-to-MBD transformation, and digital engineering initiatives while collaborating with global engineering teams to improve product definition quality, standardization, and engineering efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and sustainment of Model-Based Definition (MBD) methodologies for gas compressor components and assemblies.
- Create and maintain 3D product definitions, incorporating PMI, GD&T, engineering notes, and manufacturing information directly within CAD models.
- Support legacy drawing conversion and migration activities from 2D drawings to MBD environments.
- Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams to ensure product definitions meet engineering and business requirements.
- Follow design reviews and provide recommendations for manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, quality, and cost improvements.
- Support engineering change activities, configuration management, and product lifecycle management within Windchill PLM .
- Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting digital transformation.
- Independently work with global engineering teams and effectively communicate technical information to stakeholders and customers.

Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in mechanical design and MBD product definition (6 to 8 years overall experience) .
- Strong proficiency in Creo Parametric for part and assembly modeling.
- Hands-on experience with Windchill PLM and engineering release processes.
- Good understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, casting, forging, welding, and assembly.
- Experience supporting engineering change processes (ECR/ECN).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with global teams and customers.
Desired Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer with expertise in compressor product modeling and digital engineering who can effectively develop MBD-based product definitions, support engineering modernization initiatives, collaborate with global stakeholders, and drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement within the Gas Compressor Engineering team
