About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and technically capable Team Leader – HVAC to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and service activities while ensuring compliance with Carrier standards, manufacturer guidelines, quality requirements, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) procedures.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, customer focus, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with an integrated team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and execute assigned HVAC service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities in accordance with standard processes and manufacturer guidelines.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions, procedures, and work requirements.
- Plan and complete assigned tasks within the allocated time while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate daily timesheets and service records.
- Communicate with customers regarding the nature and progress of work upon arrival and before leaving the site.
- Communicate outstanding issues, technical findings, and recommended corrective actions or enhancements to customers and management.
- Complete Job Completion Certificates, Job Cards, EH&S site surveys, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Inspect air-conditioning and HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Repair, replace, adjust, and maintain defective or damaged components.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Adjust and maintain electrical and electronic control systems.
- Inspect and maintain coils, blowers, motors, belts, and related HVAC components.
- Prepare estimates of required labor hours, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare site inspection reports, including site conditions, scope of work (SOW), technical findings, and recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports and root cause analysis (RCA) when required.
- Identify potential risks and hazards associated with HVAC activities and implement appropriate control measures.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable EH&S requirements, company procedures, and customer site requirements.
- Identify situations requiring escalation to the Supervisor or Manager and request additional technical or operational support when necessary.
- Safely rig and set up gantries and lifting arrangements for HVAC equipment and related activities, including pumps, chillers, and other heavy equipment.
- Support equipment overhauling and major maintenance activities as required.
- Manage and organize machinery and tools, including pickup, delivery, usage, and inventory control.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and ensure the customer site is left clean and neat after completion of work.
- Work closely with colleagues and other functions as part of an integrated service team.
- Work independently and demonstrate sound technical judgment in the absence of direct supervision.
- Attend and actively participate in EH&S and technical training sessions, meetings, and toolbox talks.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration, HVAC, Mechanical Engineering , or a related technical field.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in the HVAC industry, preferably in field service, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Valid driving license is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a team-lead or senior technician capacity is preferred.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

The successful candidate should have knowledge of:

- Principles and practices of HVAC equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in accordance with industry practices and manufacturer guidelines.
- EH&S practices and procedures related to the installation, repair, maintenance, and servicing of HVAC equipment.
- Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS) and safe handling practices.
- Proper utilization, maintenance, and management of tools and equipment.
- Preparation and completion of inspection reports and technical reports.
- Quality management practices in accordance with company standards and applicable quality requirements.
- Basic electrical systems and controls.
- Metal sheet works and basic fabrication.
- Basic carpentry works.
- Building Automation and Control Systems.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use mobile applications and digital service tools.

Product / Equipment Knowledge

Candidates should have working knowledge of the following HVAC equipment:

- DX & Airside Equipment
- Reciprocating Chillers
- Screw Chillers
- Scroll Chillers
- Centrifugal Chillers
