The BIM Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of BIM and digital engineering activities across major HVAC projects, ensuring that design information is accurately coordinated, developed and delivered in accordance with project requirements, company standards and relevant industry standards.

The role will work closely with design, engineering, fabrication, project management and site installation teams to develop and coordinate 3D models and associated information from design through to manufacture and installation.

The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for identifying and resolving design and coordination issues, maintaining model and information quality, and ensuring that digital information is suitable for downstream manufacturing and construction activities.

The role will also contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM processes, digital workflows and automation within the business, helping to improve efficiency, quality, constructability and information management across projects.

## Explore your tasks and responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

•    Develop, manage and coordinate detailed 3D BIM models for HVAC and associated building services systems.
•    Coordinate HVAC systems with other building services, structural and architectural disciplines to identify and resolve clashes and design conflicts.
•    Produce and maintain accurate, coordinated design information suitable for manufacture, installation and project delivery.
•    Review design information, drawings, specifications and models to identify inconsistencies, omissions and coordination issues.
•    Work collaboratively with project engineers, designers, project managers, fabrication teams and site teams to resolve technical and coordination issues.
•    Prepare and issue drawings, models, schedules and other digital information in accordance with project requirements.
•    Carry out model checking and quality assurance to ensure models meet company, project and client requirements.
•    Support the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans, project standards, modelling standards and information delivery requirements.
•    Ensure BIM models and information are structured and maintained in accordance with relevant standards, including ISO 19650 where applicable.
•    Support the preparation and management of project information within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
•    Participate in design coordination meetings, BIM coordination meetings and clash detection reviews.
•    Manage and respond to model-based coordination issues and ensure agreed actions are incorporated into project information.
•    Support the development of fabrication-ready models and ensure design intent is translated effectively into manufacturing information.
•    Work with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure that model information supports downstream production processes, including CNC/CAM and fabrication workflows where applicable.
•    Support site teams by providing accurate and coordinated digital information for installation and construction activities.
•    Assist with the development and implementation of BIM standards, templates, libraries and workflows within the business.
•    Identify opportunities to improve project delivery through digital engineering, automation and improved information workflows.
•    Support the implementation and use of BIM and digital engineering technologies across the business.
•    Maintain awareness of emerging BIM, digital engineering and construction technology developments.
•    Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with company policies, procedures, quality requirements and health and safety standards.
•    Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement activities across projects and the wider business.

## Show your expertise

Good working knowledge of ISO 19650, BIM processes and principles within the construction or building services industry.
•    Good understanding of MEP coordination and the interaction between mechanical, electrical, architectural and structural systems.
•    Understanding of the design and installation of HVAC and mechanical building services systems.
•    Understanding of construction documentation, design coordination and information delivery processes.
•    Understanding of model-based clash detection and coordination processes.
•    Understanding of construction and/or fabrication processes and how design information is used downstream.
•    Awareness of the requirements for producing accurate, coordinated and constructible design information.
•    Proficient user of Autodesk Revit.
•    Experience producing and coordinating detailed MEP models.
•    Experience using Navisworks or equivalent coordination/clash detection software.
•    Competent in reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and 3D models.
•    Understanding of Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.

•    Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud or other CDE platforms.

•    Good understanding of model coordination, clash detection and issue resolution.
•    Good understanding of BIM data, model structure and information requirements.
•    Relevant qualification in BIM, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Digital Engineering or a related discipline; or equivalent industry experience.
•    Previous experience working in a BIM Coordinator, BIM Technician, MEP Coordinator, Design Coordinator or similar role.
•    Experience working on construction, engineering or building services projects.
•    Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
•    Demonstrable experience delivering coordinated BIM models and associated project information.
