About this role

Job Description:

We are seeking an AVP to support Markets FP&A, covering revenues and expenses for the Fixed Income (FID) and Equities (EQ) LOBs across Mizuho Americas. The role focuses on producing accurate, timely monthly deliverables and supporting the FP&A leads for each LOB. The ideal candidate has FP&A or finance experience supporting FID and/or EQ businesses and can hit the ground running on recurring processes. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to partner with business managers, COOs, Product Control and head office (Japan).

Key Responsibilities:

· Produce monthly FID and EQ deliverables, including month-end actuals, revenue and expense reporting, and management packs

· Prepare senior management presentations and ad hoc analysis on revenue and cost drivers by desk and product

· Support the weekly/monthly forecast and annual budget for FID and EQ

· Prepare plan, forecast and YoY variance analysis, working with the front office and Product Control to explain key drivers

· Analyze direct and allocated expenses and support monthly cost reviews with business COOs

· Maintain reporting standards and data integrity for FID and EQ per HO (Japan) requirements

· Maintain hierarchies and mappings (desks, trading books, cost centers, entities) across systems

· Support monthly allocations and inter-entity reconciliations across Americas legal entities

· Help streamline and automate reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes, including in OneStream

· Respond to ad hoc requests from HO (Japan), LOB leads and Finance partners

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field (CPA/CFA a plus)

· 3–5 years of financial services experience, including 2+ years in FP&A, product control or financial analysis

· Experience supporting Fixed Income and/or Equities businesses in a finance role strongly preferred

· Working knowledge of FID and EQ products (e.g., rates, credit, securitized products, cash equities, derivatives) and their revenue/expense drivers

· Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with OneStream, Hyperion, Anaplan or PeopleSoft

· Understanding of income statement data across business line, desk, entity and head office reporting dimensions

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines with minimal supervision

· Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

· Familiarity with US GAAP and/or IFRS

· Knowledge of GL concepts (profit/cost centers, trading books, allocations, inter-entity transfers) at an investment bank or broker-dealer

· Experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL or Python

· Experience at a foreign or Japanese bank with head office reporting requirements

The expected base salary ranges from $93,000 - $150,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
