Position Overview

PrideStaff is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mill and Lathe Machinist to join a dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, program, and operate CNC and manual mills and lathes to produce high-precision components to exact technical specifications.Core Duties
Set up, program, and operate CNC and manual milling machines and lathes. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine proper machining sequences and tolerances. Select, align, and secure appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and raw materials. Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, height gauges). Monitor machine operations, adjust feed rates and spindle speeds, and troubleshoot operational issues to ensure part quality. Perform routine daily preventive maintenance on machinery and maintain a safe, clean shop environment. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure seamless workflow and material efficiency.
Qualifications Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating mills and lathes in a precision manufacturing environment. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency reading blueprints, shop drawings, and understanding GD&T symbols. Control Systems: Familiarity with CNC machine controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Mazak) and basic G-code/M-code programming adjustments. Measuring Tools: Skilled in using precision measurement instruments to verify tight tolerances. Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training, machinist certification, or completion of an apprenticeship program preferred.
