About this role
The Sales Tech team is part of Intuit's Data, Growth & Experiences (DGX) organization: we start from data — building the relationships, inferences, and intelligent insights that make up a trusted picture of every customer — and build on that foundation with AI Agents, integrated with first- and third-party models and agents, that automate workflows across modalities and across every channel, inbound and outbound. This team powers sales across all channels and for all of Intuit's products: IES, GBSG, Mailchimp, and TurboTax (TT). We build AI Agents that help our Business Development Representatives (BDRs) and Account Managers (AMs) automate their day-to-day work and operate more efficiently.
This team's engineering roadmap spans three customer-facing pillars: Know the Customer (unified, trustworthy customer data, relationships, and intelligence), Win the Customer (lead orchestration, engagement, and pipeline/forecasting), and Close the Customer (quoting, contract lifecycle, order automation, and seller enablement). This role owns engineering delivery across all three pillars — from the underlying customer data and intelligence foundation, through pipeline and forecasting, to quoting, contracting, and order automation.
We are seeking a Manager 3, Software Engineering to build and lead this team. We're looking for someone who is customer-obsessed, brings deep technical knowledge, and knows how to build a culture that moves with velocity — hiring and growing a high-performing team, partnering with Principal Engineers (PEs) and Distinguished Engineers (DEs) to set technical direction, and driving delivery of the reliable systems our sellers depend on every day. Prior experience in the lead-to-cash domain is a plus, not a requirement.
Responsibilities
- Hire, coach, and grow a team of software engineers, building a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and inclusion.
- Partner with Principal Engineers (PEs) and Distinguished Engineers (DEs) to set technical direction across all three pillars: customer data and intelligence, pipeline and forecasting, and quoting/CLM/order automation, built on Salesforce and enterprise platform services.
- Own the team's AI Agent roadmap: build and ship AI Agents — integrating first- and third-party models and agents — that automate BDR and AM workflows across modalities and across inbound and outbound channels.
- Partner with Product leaders across all three pillars — Know the Customer, Win the Customer, and Close the Customer — to translate roadmap priorities into a single, cohesive engineering plan.
- Own end-to-end delivery for the team: roadmap planning, prioritization, sprint execution, and resolution of cross-team dependencies with partner engineering organizations (monetization, billing, commerce).
- Set and uphold the reliability, correctness, and auditability bar expected of revenue-critical systems.
- Scale platform services and AI Agents consistently across all of Intuit's sales channels and products (IES, GBSG, Mailchimp, TurboTax).
- Champion responsible, effective use of AI in day-to-day engineering workflows, promoting tools like Claude to boost team productivity.
- Partner closely with Sales leadership, Product, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business priorities into an engineering roadmap, and communicate technical trade-offs and status clearly to senior leadership.
- Manage team health: staffing plans, performance management, career development, and succession planning.
- Represent Sales Tech Engineering in broader organizational planning, process improvement, and technical governance forums.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience building web, software, or data-intensive applications, including 3+ years directly managing software engineering teams.
- Strong technical background, with hands-on experience in at least one object-oriented language (Java/J2EE or C#) and sound judgment on distributed systems design.
- Experience partnering with Principal- or Distinguished-level engineers to set technical direction and architecture for complex, cross-team systems.
- A track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering talent.
- Experience shipping AI/ML capabilities to production, ideally including LLM-based features, is a plus.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), or revenue/sales systems is a plus — lead-to-cash domain experience (CPQ, CLM, order management, forecasting) is nice to have but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technical stakeholders.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
