Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the finance and administrative functions by processing accounts payable transactions, handling related documentation, and delivering excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in transactional accounting, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to customers and vendors.
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Process sales and purchasing documents with a high level of accuracy and completeness.
- Research, verify, and process credit memos in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform three-way match of purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents to ensure proper coding and payment.
- Process end-of-business-day reports and ensure all related documentation is complete and accurate.
- Interact daily with employees and customers to resolve inquiries and support accounting and administrative needs.
- Order and maintain office supplies to support daily operations.
- Perform data entry for accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure all transactional accounting activities comply with internal policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
- 1+ years of administrative, accounting, accounts payable, or customer service experience.
- 2+ years of transactional accounting experience, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payable coding.
- Experience with purchase orders and three-way match procedures.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with way match and coding of invoices and purchase orders.
- Background in both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to research and resolve discrepancies related to credit memos and transactional records.
- Comfort with processing end-of-day reports and handling routine administrative tasks.
Work Environment
This is an in-office position with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role operates in a professional office setting that relies on computers and standard office equipment, including the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word. The position supports a collaborative environment where employees interact frequently with colleagues, customers, and vendors. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
