Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Eagle Mountain, UT (100% Onsite) Compensation: $105,000 - $135,000 annually, depending on experience, project scope, MEP expertise, leadership background, financial management experience, and overall qualifications Schedule: Approximately 50 hours per week
Overview
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to support a large-scale hyperscale data center construction project in Eagle Mountain, Utah. This individual will oversee complex mechanical and MEP construction scopes exceeding $20M in value and play a key role in project execution, financial performance, client management, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of project execution, including estimating, scope development, scheduling, safety, budgeting, and profitability.
- Lead multiple fast-track mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Oversee large-scale MEP scopes on industrial, mission-critical, and data center projects.
- Manage project financials, including forecasting, labor tracking, material costs, owner billings, and overall budget performance.
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage change orders, RFIs, and project controls.
- Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, field operations, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.
- Manage procurement activities, equipment buyouts, subcontract agreements, and material deliveries.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and execution strategies.
- Review construction drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in coordination meetings and BIM/model reviews.
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers and Project Coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and project-specific requirements.
- Support business development efforts and assist in securing future project opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience as a Project Manager overseeing MEP scopes on large-scale construction projects, OR
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer ready to transition into a Project Manager role.
- Experience managing industrial construction projects with project values of at least $20M.
- Proven experience managing project financials, forecasting, owner billings, and cost controls.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and MEP construction systems.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical installation sequencing and construction workflows.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising Project Engineers and project team members.
- Proficiency managing change orders, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Eagle Mountain, Utah.

What Would Disqualify a Candidate?
- No industrial construction project experience.
- No MEP project management experience.
- No experience supporting projects valued at $20M or greater.
- No experience managing project budgets, forecasting, or owner billings.
- Limited understanding of mechanical installation sequencing.
- No experience leading or mentoring project team members.
- Inability to work onsite in Utah.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagle Mountain, UT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $135000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
