Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer III Job Description This role focuses on leading CNC manufacturing engineering activities with an emphasis on programming, process improvement, and root cause analysis for machined parts. You will develop and optimize CNC programs, support milling and mill-turn operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process. The position requires strong collaboration with setup personnel, quality, and production teams to ensure efficient, high-quality output in a growing company. Responsibilities

- Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for milling and mill-turn machines to ensure efficient and accurate production.
- Own the root cause analysis for part-related issues, identifying problems, implementing corrective actions, and preventing recurrence.
- Work closely with setup personnel to ensure smooth machine setups, proper tooling selection, and accurate execution of CNC programs.
- Support and troubleshoot mills and lathes, resolving programming, tooling, and process-related issues on the shop floor.
- Use Mastercam to create, modify, and maintain CNC programs and machining strategies for various components.
- Contribute to quoting activities by providing manufacturing input, estimating machining times, and recommending process approaches.
- Design and refine tooling solutions to improve manufacturability, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
- Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
- Collaborate with quality personnel to investigate nonconformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement robust corrective actions.
- Support manufacturing process engineering activities, including process documentation, standard work development, and process validation.
- Use CAD tools such as AutoCAD to review, interpret, and update drawings and models as needed for manufacturing.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes across Mori, Doosan, and Haas equipment.

Essential Skills

- Proven experience as a manufacturing engineer with a focus on CNC machining and CNC programming.
- Hands-on experience with milling and mill-turn operations, including troubleshooting mills and lathes.
- Proficiency in Mastercam for creating and optimizing CNC programs.
- Strong background in tooling selection, tooling design support, and tooling optimization for machining operations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis for quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Experience supporting quoting activities by providing manufacturing input and process estimates.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies applied in a production environment.
- Experience with manufacturing process engineering and process improvement in a CNC machining environment.
- Familiarity with operating environments that include Mori, Doosan, and Haas equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, including CAD-based documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mills and lathes, including diagnosing and resolving mechanical, programming, and process issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in fixture design to support efficient and repeatable machining processes.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor for creating and modifying models and drawings.
- Experience with process engineering and manufacturing process development in a production setting.
- background in continuous improvement initiatives using lean or similar methodologies.
- Bilingual communication skills.
- Experience working in a growing manufacturing organization and adapting to evolving processes and equipment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Elmhurst, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
