About this role

Job Title: Estimator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Estimator to develop detailed estimates and takeoffs for commercial and industrial fire protection projects. This role involves reviewing construction drawings and specifications to develop accurate project scope and pricing. Responsibilities

- Perform sprinkler layouts and takeoffs using CAD and/or PDF-based estimating tools.
- Estimate both overhead and underground fire protection systems.
- Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, code requirements, and potential risks during the estimating process.
- Evaluate bid opportunities to determine alignment with company capabilities and resources.
- Proactively follow up on submitted bids and communicate with customers regarding scope, pricing, and project requirements.
- Assist in converting qualified opportunities into awarded work through strong customer communication and follow-up.
- Maintain involvement after award to support design, field, and project teams with scope questions, revisions, and change orders.
- Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of active bids and awarded projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders.

Essential Skills

- 5+ years of experience estimating fire sprinkler/fire protection projects or closely related construction experience.
- Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems, construction drawings, and project specifications.
- Experience performing detailed material and labor takeoffs.
- Working knowledge of underground and overhead fire protection systems.
- Proficiency with CAD and/or PDF-based layout and estimating tools.
- Ability to understand building construction and identify potential installation or estimating challenges.
- Strong customer-facing communication and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable discussing scope and pricing with customers and helping move opportunities toward award.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience estimating retrofit and existing-building fire protection projects.
- Fire pump experience.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, warehouse, self-storage, parking structure, or similar projects.
- Post-secondary education, degree in project management.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Brea, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
