## About the Role:
The Associate Director, Digital Communications leads the strategy and management of the company’s corporate digital communications channels, including corporate social media platforms and the corporate website. This role serves as Corporate Communications’ primary subject matter expert for corporate digital channels, providing strategic counsel to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders. The Associate Director develops and leads digital communications strategies that advance corporate priorities, strengthen corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement and drive the continued evolution of the company’s corporate digital presence.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

Digital Communications Strategy

- Leads the development and execution of corporate digital communications strategies and roadmaps that support corporate priorities and business objectives and inform the short and longer term direction of the digital communications function
- Establishes corporate digital communications standards, governance, processes, and best practices to improve channel effectiveness, consistency, operational efficiency and alignment with evolving business needs
- Serves as Corporate Communications’ primary subject matter expert and strategic advisor for corporate digital channels, providing counsel to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders on channel strategy, content development, audience engagement and digital best practices and recommending approaches to complex or sensitive digital communications matters
- Drives innovation across corporate digital communications by anticipating and evaluating emerging technologies, platforms, content approaches and audience trends and recommending opportunities to strengthen the company’s corporate digital communications capabilities and strategic roadmap
- Leads complex, high-visibility corporate digital communications initiatives, influencing senior stakeholders, navigating competing priorities and ambiguity, and driving alignment across functions to achieve business and communications objectives

Corporate Social Media Management

- Leads the strategy and execution of the company’s corporate social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, X, YouTube and other platforms as appropriate, including editorial calendars and content plans that support corporate communications priorities
- Directs and develops high-impact digital content tailored to platform-specific audiences and best practices, while creating, writing, editing and publishing content for priority corporate communications initiatives
- Leads social listening and community engagement activities, monitoring for emerging issues, reputational risks and opportunities, assessing business and reputational implications, and recommending escalation or response strategies as appropriate
- Develops executive social media and thought leadership strategies and provides counsel to senior leaders on effective digital engagement to amplify key corporate messages and leadership visibility
- Develops and executes paid social media campaigns in support of corporate communications initiatives
- Establishes social media performance measures and evaluates channel performance and audience insights to identify trends, inform strategic recommendations and continuously improve communications effectiveness

Corporate Website Management

- Serves as business owner and strategic lead for the corporate website, defining the strategic roadmap and independently recommending and setting priorities for content, functionality, user experience and platform evolution based on business objectives, audience needs and digital best practices
- Establishes corporate website governance frameworks, content standards, and prioritization processes across business functions to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and user experience goals
- Provides strategic direction and oversight to agency and technology partners supporting the corporate website, ensuring performance against business requirements, budgets, timelines and quality expectations
- Leads corporate website enhancement, redesign and platform initiatives, influencing priorities and coordinating senior stakeholders and external partners to ensure successful delivery
- Uses website analytics, audience insights and search optimization best practices to identify opportunities, inform strategic recommendations and improve website performance and user experience

Digital Measurement & Insights

- Establishes measurement frameworks and key performance indicators for corporate digital communications channels and strategic initiatives.
- Analyzes digital performance, audience behavior and external trends to generate actionable insights and strategic recommendations that inform digital communications priorities, investment decisions and functional strategy.

Requirements:

- 14+ years of a combination of relevant experience, training and education applicable to corporate communications, digital communications, public relations or a related field
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field AND 10+ years of applicable experience in corporate communications, digital communications, public relations or a related field OR
- Master’s degree in related field AND 8+ years of applicable experience as noted above
- Advanced writing, editing, and content development skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific, disease-state and business information into clear, engaging content for social media and other corporate digital channels
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate social media strategy, content development, channel management, and audience engagement
- Advanced knowledge of digital and social media management, analytics and monitoring tools, with demonstrated ability to interpret data and audience insights to inform strategic recommendations and optimize channel performance
- Demonstrated experience translating business objectives and strategic priorities into corporate digital communications strategies, channel plans and content approaches that advance organizational goals
- Demonstrated experience leading corporate website strategy, governance, content and digital user experience, including use of content management systems (CMS), digital publishing best practices, cross-functional initiatives and oversight of website development and technology partners
- Experience evaluating and applying emerging digital technologies, including AI-enabled tools and technologies such as large language models (LLMs), to enhance corporate communications strategy, content development and digital channel management
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic counsel to senior leaders, influence decision-making and build alignment across cross-functional stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead multiple complex initiatives, exercise judgement amid competing priorities, and drive cross-functional work to successful outcomes
- Strong agency and vendor management experience, including strategic direction and oversight of budgets, timelines and deliverables
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry preferred

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $161,100.00-$220,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
