The Department of Occupational Therapy at Xavier University is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time (9 month), non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor to join our esteemed Occupational Therapy Doctoral program beginning in Fall 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students and contribute to the advancement of occupational therapy practice. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Assistant Professor will be responsible for a blend of teaching and service. The role will involve:

- Teaching older adult and/or behavioral health content, including lectures and labs on evaluation and intervention.
- Teaching Capstone content, including IRB submissions and engaging with community agencies.
- Assuming course and program development, assessment, and accreditation responsibilities.
- Serving on various committees and engaging in service activities within the department and university.
- Mentoring and guiding students in their academic and professional development.

Teaching Load

The teaching expectation is 24 credit hours annually for this non-tenure-track faculty position.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

- A doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy practice. Preferred candidates will have 5-10 years of experience.
- Experience as an adjunct, guest lecturer, or lab assistant in an occupational therapy educational program preferred.
- Initial certification as an occupational therapist.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Ohio.
- Membership in state and national occupational therapy organizations.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
