Title: Resilience and Third-Party Risk Intern, Spring 2027

Resilience and Third Party Risk Intern
As a Resilience and Third Party Risk Intern, you will support the Business Continuity and Third Party Risk Management teams and work alongside your hiring manager, mentor, and colleagues on activities that help strengthen Northwestern Mutual’s operational resilience. You will gain exposure to how the company prepares for business disruptions, supports continuity planning and testing, and identifies and monitors risks associated with third parties. Job responsibilities include:
· Assist with maintaining business continuity plans and supporting documentation.
· Support business continuity exercises, scenario testing, and post-exercise activities, including organizing results and tracking follow-up items.
· Assist with third party risk activities, including due diligence documentation, risk assessment support, issue tracking, and ongoing monitoring.
· Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities related to resilience and third party risk.
· Prepare clear reports, presentations, meeting materials, and status updates for internal stakeholders.
· Participate in meetings with business partners and learn how resilience and third-party risk requirements are applied across the company.
Bring Your Best! What this role needs. Minimum qualifications
· Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with anticipated graduation after the internship; majors in business, risk management, finance, information systems, supply chain, data analytics, or a related field are preferred
· Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
· Coursework, project, volunteer, or work experience involving business analysis, risk, continuity planning, data analysis, operations, information technology, or a related area
· Employer immigration sponsorship is not available for this role
Preferred skills and Proficiencies
· Interest in business continuity, operational resilience, risk management, third party risk, or related disciplines
· Ability to evaluate information, ask thoughtful questions, and identify practical solutions
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, well-organized work
· Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize information for varied audiences
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and collaboration tools, with an interest in learning risk and resilience systems
· Self-motivated, curious, collaborative, and willing to learn in a professional environment
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle information with appropriate discretion
