Key Responsibilities
- Prepare metal surfaces for coating, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and other required surface-preparation activities.
- Operate powder-coating equipment to apply coatings in accordance with established specifications and work instructions.
- Set up and adjust coating equipment and application parameters as required for assigned production work.
- Monitor the curing process and associated equipment to ensure coated components meet established requirements.
- Load, position, handle, and move components and materials as required throughout the coating and finishing process.
- Inspect coated components for coverage, finish, thickness, and other applicable quality requirements; identify and report defects or nonconforming conditions.
- Perform routine operator-level equipment checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance activities as authorized.
- Maintain required coating materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to support production activities.
- Complete and maintain required production, material, and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all applicable safety, environmental, work instructions, and PPE requirements.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous powder-coating, industrial painting, or similar manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and coating requirements.
- Familiarity with powder-coating equipment and processes preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to make routine equipment adjustments.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Shift Information
- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
- 3rd Shift - Monday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- All new hires start on 2nd Shift unless discussed.
- Overtime may be required, including early start times or later end times.
Physical Demands:
This position involves sustained physical activity and may require prolonged standing and walking; frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive movement; and handling or positioning materials and equipment. Lifting and carrying requirements will be identified based on the essential functions of the specific position and may include loads exceeding 50 pounds, including team-assisted or mechanical lifting where appropriate.
The position requires sufficient visual ability to safely perform assigned work, identify components and materials, read equipment markings and work instructions, recognize hazards, perform required inspections or precision work, and safely operate or work around industrial equipment.
The position requires sufficient hearing ability to communicate in an industrial environment and recognize equipment operation or changes in operation, audible warnings, alarms, signals, and other conditions necessary for safe job performance.

Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing and coating environment with exposure to heat, noise, moving machinery, and powered equipment.
- Regular exposure to powder-coating materials, dust, airborne particulates, and other substances associated with surface preparation and coating operations.
- Work may be performed near curing ovens and other equipment or materials that generate elevated temperatures.
- Required to work around coating equipment, ovens, forklifts, hoists, powered tools, and other industrial equipment.
- Required use of applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with established safety, environmental, and coating-process procedures.
