Job Title: Production Control Specialist / Quality Job Description
This hands-on Production Control Specialist / Quality role supports daily manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate inventory control, consistent product quality, and efficient material flow throughout the facility. You will monitor production activities, coordinate logistics, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals while contributing to a growing operation.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and support daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Perform quality inspections and verify that products meet customer and internal company standards.
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities to keep materials and finished goods moving efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Support material movement and ensure timely delivery of components and materials to production lines.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues.
- Investigate quality concerns, determine root causes, and help implement effective corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and company procedures in daily activities.
- Use data entry and documentation practices to accurately record inventory transactions and quality results.
- Support dispatch, freight coordination, and logistics activities as needed to meet customer and production requirements.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, production control, or inventory-related roles.
- Hands-on experience with supply chain, logistics, or inventory operations.
- Experience with inventory systems, inventory control, and cycle counting.
- Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
- Comfort with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to collaborate with production, purchasing, warehouse, and logistics teams.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and warehouse management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Background in customer service related to logistics, inventory, or order fulfillment is beneficial.
- Experience with warehouse management and dispatch operations is advantageous.
- Exposure to freight coordination and logistics planning is helpful.
- Interest in career advancement and skill development within manufacturing and production control.
Work Environment
This role supports both office and manufacturing environments, with regular walking on the production floor to monitor operations and support material and quality activities. There are two open positions on a first shift schedule, typically 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with multiple scheduling options and overtime opportunities available. The facility is expanding following a significant new customer win, offering stability, growth, and the chance to contribute to an evolving operation. You will work in a collaborative setting with strong teamwork and supportive leadership, using inventory systems, Microsoft Office tools, and warehouse management practices to support daily production and logistics. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
