Job Description:

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) UGRD Student Assistant for the School of Psychological Science at Oregon State University (OSU).

Position Duties:

Student Assistants' primary responsibility is serving as reception for the School of Psychological Science (SPS). This includes welcoming and directing guests, answering questions from walk-ins, phone calls, and email, receiving and directing mail, and opening and closing the building.

- Office support such as filing, receiving shipments, creating flyers or documents, and answering student questions.
- Facilities support for school events, light maintenance, or helping move equipment and supplies.
- Event planning and support for school events and programs
- Marketing and social media support for school events and programs
- Other projects as needed, based on the school’s priorities.

Qualifications:

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the  Office of International Services  (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Required Qualifications:

- Psychology major
- Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn new software systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in an office environment
- Experience handling spreadsheets, data entry, or record maintenance.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and professionalism when interacting with students who may be seeking academic, personal, or university resources.
- Experience with marketing and social media

# Working Conditions/Schedule:
• On campus typically between the hours of 8 am – 5 pm on Mondays – Fridays
• Periodic evening and weekend work for events
