Detailed description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following key performance areas:
- Manage the end-to-end settlement of domestic financial market transactions.
- Process and authorise bond, money market and repo transactions.
- Capture and verify settlement and accounting transactions accurately.
- Ensure compliance with Strate rules, regulations and SARB policies.
- Monitor settlement deadlines and ensure timely processing of transactions.
- Manage collateral activities, including lodging, release and substitution of collateral.
- Perform daily reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Investigate and resolve failed, rejected or unmatched settlement transactions.
- Provide settlement support and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and clients.
- Maintain accurate records and support process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Participate in strategic and operational projects.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- a Diploma in Financial Management (NQF6) or an equivalent qualification; and
- a minimum of two to five years’ job-related experience.
The following would be an added advantage:
- completed STRATE and/or JSE settlement certificate.
- excellent interpersonal skills.
- excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- a high degree of self-motivation.
Additional requirements include:
- in-depth knowledge and understanding of domestic financial markets, instruments and stakeholders.
- working knowledge and understanding of domestic market systems (e.g., collateral systems, Flexcube, SWIFT, SAMOS).
- customer service orientation.
- proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- willingness to occasionally work overtime when required; and
- proven ability to multi-task, deliver results, and respond quickly and effectively to requests.
