JOB PURPOSE
The role requires specialization in handling disputes and legal matters concerning labour and industrial relations. This role involves representing either employers or employees in court, quasi-judicial bodies or before labour tribunals. The person should advocate for their clients in cases related to contact disputes, wrongful termination, discrimination, collective bargaining agreements and other issues arising within the workplace. Their primary goals is to navigate legal complexities to protect DIALs rights and interests in labour related matters through litigation and legal representations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Legal Compliance:
- Ensure that employers and employees adhere to local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
- Provide advice on compliance with collective bargaining agreements, employment contracts, and relevant statutes
- Implementation of measures to proactively address and prevent potential labor disputes and legal issues.
- Level of adherence to labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Percentage of cases successfully resolved compared to the total number of cases handled.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize a caseload, considering the complexity and urgency of each case.
- Demonstrated commitment to staying informed about changes in labor laws, regulations, and industry best practices
Dispute Resolutions:
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution
- Prepare and present legal arguments in court or before administrative bodies to resolve labor
- Percentage of cases successfully resolved compared to the total number of cases handled.
- Average time taken to resolve a case from filing to resolution.
- Feedback from stakeholders, employers and employees, on the quality and effectiveness of services provided.
Collective Bargaining:
- Assist in the negotiation and drafting of collective bargaining agreements between employers and labor unions
- Address issues related to wages, working conditions, benefits, and other terms of employment
Success rate in negotiating favorable terms in collective bargaining agreements or settlement discussions
Grievance Handling:
Manage and resolve grievances raised by employees, including those related to workplace conditions, disciplinary actions, and contract interpretation
Time taken to resolve employee grievances or disputes within the organization.

Advisory services and documentations:
- Offer legal advice to employers and employees on matters such as terminations, layoffs, discrimination, and other employment-related issues.
- Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, settlement agreements, and other relevant paperwork
- Stay current on changes in labor laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research to support litigation strategies and provide informed advice.
- Evaluation of the impact of training programs provided to employees, internal stakeholders on labor relations issues.
- Implementation of measures to proactively address and prevent potential labor disputes and legal issues.
- Measurement of improvements in overall employee relations and workplace harmony.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research and apply it effectively to cases.
- Success in providing timely and accurate legal advice to clients.
Representation, mediation and conciliation:
- Represent in administrative proceedings, hearings, and court trials.
- Advocate for the interests of clients in negotiations and other forums.
- Facilitate discussions between labor unions and employers to reach mutually acceptable resolutions.
- Act as a mediator or conciliator in labor disputes
- Success rate in resolving disputes through mediation or arbitration processes.
- Effectiveness in identifying and mitigating potential legal risks for the organization.
- Effectiveness in communicating legal strategies, advice, and updates to clients and stakeholders.

- Costs associated with negotiating and reaching settlements, including any compensation or terms agreed upon.
- Costs associated with implementing and maintaining risk management strategies to minimize legal risks for the organization

- 7000 Contract Workers, 2000 employees, 90 Contractors.
- Skill in leading & guiding other employees in following labor laws compliances.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA or MSW; and
- Preferably Law Graduate having experience and strong knowledge in Compliance, Regulatory and Litigation
