The Capture Group of OpenText Enterprise Content Management platforms division is focusing on the development and maintenance of the Capture product line. The Capture technology transforms electronic and paper documents into application-ready information, providing a flexible, end-to-end capture solution that includes document capture, document classification, data extraction, information validation, and delivery to backend system.
Your Impact:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (Server, C++) who shares our passion for developing and maintaining the Enterprise Capture product line. OpenText’s Capture solutions are deployed both on premise and in the cloud. OpenText Capture technology transforms digital and paper business documents into application-ready information, providing a flexible, end-to-end capture solution that includes document capture, classification, data extraction, information validation, and delivery to line of business or backend systems.
What the role offers:
As a Senior Software Developer (Server, C++), you will:
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Design and develop Capture components related to capture, processing, and recognition of business documents
- Own end-to-end; design, development, validation and test automation, deployment, and support in production.
- Work closely with Quality Development to review test plans and test cases
- Provide technical guidance for major software initiatives, including technology standardization and modernization.
- Provide technical team leadership: distribute tasks, track progress, technical risk assessment, problem solving, early risk notification, report progress and status to manager.
- Perform all assigned jobs with minimal assistance from the supervisor
- Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports and customer escalations
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelors, MS or PhD in CS or a related technical field and 3+ years of enterprise software development experience
- 5+ years of software development experience using Microsoft Development Environment and tools
Required
- Knowledge and Experience with C++ (11-23) (required)
- Up to date knowledge of Visual Studio Code with the C# dev kit or any other Linux based IDE. GNU Compiler family or alternatives
- Experience with Windows architecture, Windows services, Web API as well Linux Platforms
- Knowledge about relational databases and SQL
- Experience with Docker and related containerization technology, Kubernetes or related orchestration software, Helm
- Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge and experience in Git version control
- Expertise in low-level diagnostics across both platforms, including crash dump and core dump analysis, memory and leak profiling, and multithreaded race and deadlock debugging. Strong expertise about data structures, operating systems, distributed systems, multithreading programming, performance optimization
- Expert knowledge of design patterns and object oriented principles and how and when to apply them
- Experience with relational databases, SQL optimization, and ORM technologies such as Entity Framework Core
Cross-platform C++ development experience using MSVC and GCC/Clang, CMake or equivalent build systems, and conditional compilation for Windows and Linux targets.
Experience with Sockets, Networking in relation to client/server communication
- Profiling and performance testing experience
- Strong skills in debugging, triaging and resolving technical issues
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Desired
- Experience with gRPC/Protobuf or similar RPC frameworks for native-to-service communication.
- Experience modernizing long-lived native codebases while maintaining backward compatibility and functional parity.
- Native-to-managed interoperability experience, including P/Invoke, COM/DCOM, C++/CLI, and the design of stable ABI or service boundaries between native and .NET components.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.
Salary Range: $98,080.00 - $147,120.00; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
