About this role

The Metrology Engineer will ensure that all products meet customer and company requirements by developing, programming, and executing advanced dimensional measurement strategies. He/she will provide direct engineering support for both sustaining production and new launch projects while collaborating closely with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and metrology technician teams. The engineer will be required to learn and adhere to company policies, quality & metrology processes as well as safety requirements. An effective candidate must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate critical thinking. He/she must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with external and internal teams at all levels across the company. Candidates will also be required to balance multiple projects, utilizing various skill sets in a highly dynamic and diverse working environment. They must be able to work independently but also be a strong contributor and technical leader in small and large groups.

Direct support of sustaining production and new launch projects through development of measurement plans, programs, and analysis Provide technical support to Design, Manufacturing, and Quality teams as well as guidance and mentoring to metrology technicians Programming, operation, and optimization of stationary CMM equipment using PC-DMIS software to support production process monitoring, new production commissioning, capability studies, and root cause investigations Utilization of portable CMM equipment including portable arms, laser trackers, and Creaform systems with PolyWorks software for shop-floor and large-volume measurements Application of blue-light structured light scanning systems with GOM software for high-accuracy 3D inspection and reverse engineering Full understanding and application of GD&T principles in the creation of measurement routines, alignment strategies, and fixturing design Liaise with Production, Engineering, Manufacturing, Design, and Quality teams to translate requirements into effective metrology solutions Understand manufacturing processes (stamping, casting, machining, assembly) to apply appropriate measurement techniques and interpret results Collect tactile and scan data, perform advanced analysis, and generate detailed reports that clearly communicate key findings, deviations, and recommendations Lead and support 5S activities to ensure the metrology lab is organized, equipment is properly maintained, and material flows efficiently

Proven experience with stationary CMM systems (horizontal or bridge style) and expert-level programming in PC-DMIS  Hands-on knowledge of portable CMM equipment (portable arms, laser trackers, Creaform scanners) and PolyWorks software  Experience with blue-light structured light scanning systems and GOM software  Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and its practical application in measurement routines, datum schemes, and fixturing  CAD experience (CATIA, NX, or equivalent 3D CAD) for model-based inspection and fixture design  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting  Demonstrated ability to support both high-volume production environments and new product launch activities  Strong problem-solving skills and experience conducting root-cause analysis using dimensional data

Expected Compensation $84,000 - $138,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
