Family & Community Engagement Coordinator
Role:
The Family and Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for fostering relationships with FAM HUB families to assist them in growing community connection, increasing social support, and opportunities for family betterment. This position coordinates the planning, development, and administration of activities and events that promote family well being and connection to the broader community.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support program development for the project through the coordination of project events and activities to support families and community members.
- Ensure all events and activities adhere to and promote the ACF Priorities.
- Plan and implement activities and events that engage families and the community. (Examples include Parent Cafs, Support Groups with Topical Focus, Kids Carnivals, etc.)
- Ensure activities/events meet the needs and interests of families through establishing feedback loops with participants and project staff to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with community agencies and stakeholders to create partnerships that support FAM HUB engagement initiatives.
- Engage children and families in healthy activities and events to meet their social needs and further help them connect with the broader community through unique and creative outreach techniques.
- Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and meetings for parents to enhance their involvement in the community resources.
- Maintain effective communication with families and community members to promote engagement opportunities and resources available to them.
- Work with RPG staff to develop a family and community outreach and engagement plan, updating as needed based on feedback loop with individuals served and project staff.
- Work with the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator to showcase FAM HUB through social media, TV, radio, and other avenues.
- Participate in RPG training, community events, and other project activities as assigned.
- Track data related to project events and activities, including attendance, topics, and satisfaction survey data.
- Complete project documentation according to established timelines, as needed.
- Maintain client and employee confidentiality, abiding by all state and federal confidentiality expectations, including those established by HIPAA and Federal Substance Abuse Confidentiality Law (42 CFR Part 2).
- Contributes to the overall success of the grant by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications for Position:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marketing, or a related field. Preferred experience with non-profit and/or community outreach activities.
Reports to : Project Director
Personal Qualities :
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; detail oriented.
Amount of Travel & Other Special Conditions:
Valid Iowa driver’s license, insurance coverage, and have an automobile. Typical hours Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; may include some nights and weekends.
