Standard Job Description
Provides first‑line operational support for mission‑critical network systems supporting spacecraft command, control, and data dissemination. Monitors network health, responds to alerts, and performs initial troubleshooting to quickly isolate and resolve outages or performance issues. Escalates complex problems to senior engineers as needed while ensuring timely restoration of network services.
Maintains day‑to‑day network operational readiness by executing routine tasks such as configuration checks, system verifications, and basic hardware or software updates under established procedures. Ensures all operational network documentation remains accurate, complete, and compliant with configuration management (CM) requirements.
Supports ongoing sustainment activities by tracking system changes, updating topology diagrams and procedures, and assisting with validation of approved modifications. Contributes to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and documenting lessons learned for the engineering team.
Basic Qualifications
* Experience with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches, VLANs, firewalls, and general network administration.
* Familiarity with DISA STIGs and secure configuration/hardening practices.
* Foundational knowledge of network design, TCP/IP, and routing protocols.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within engineering teams; proficiency with Visio, SPLIT, or similiar tools.
* Security+ Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
* Active DoD Secret clearance required
Desired Skills
* Experience with SolarWinds or similar network monitoring and management platforms.
* Knowledge of classified network environments, COMSEC, and TACLANE encryptors.
* Operating system experience with Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
* Certifications in Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto technologies.
* Ability to work effectively in agile, collaborative engineering teams.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
