About this role

The University of Virginia's Office of Summer and Special Academic Programs seeks qualified applicants to fill Lecturer positions to teach January Term courses in winter 2027.

January Term (J-Term) is a university-wide initiative sponsored by the Office of the Vice President and Provost. Offered at the undergraduate level, J-Term takes place during a two-week period in January. These small, intensive courses are designed to foster close faculty-student engagement and provide an immersive learning experience focused on a specific subject, theme, or field of study.

Successful candidates must hold a doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.

This is a part-time, tenure-ineligible position which does not carry benefits.
