Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for an Associate Director, US Commercial Finance to support the Heart Recovery business within Johnson & Johnson MedTech in Danvers, MA.

Position Overview
The Associate Director serves as a strategic finance business partner to the US Commercial Leadership Team, providing financial leadership, business insights, and decision support to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and compliant business practices. This role is responsible for leading commercial finance activities across revenue forecasting, operating expense management, pricing and contracting, business case development, investment governance, and financial planning.
The position partners closely with Commercial, Sales Operations, Pricing, Compliance, Legal, HR and X-Finance teams to deliver business objectives while ensuring strong financial controls, SOX compliance, and adherence to Johnson & Johnson Credo values.
The Associate Director leads a team of finance professionals and is responsible for developing organizational capabilities, driving continuous improvement, and advancing digital and analytical solutions that enhance decision-making.
Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary finance partner to US Commercial leadership, influencing strategic decisions and resource allocation.
- Provide financial leadership for commercial growth initiatives, market expansion opportunities, and new business models.
- Translate business strategies into actionable financial plans and measurable performance outcomes.
- Present business insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making.
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the annual Business Plan, Forecast Updates and Latest Thinking
- Develop revenue, margin, and operating expense projections using market, customer, and operational drivers
- Drive forecasting accuracy through advanced analytics and predictive business modeling
- Assess risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation plans to achieve financial commitments
Commercial Finance Management
- Lead financial evaluation of pricing strategies, contract negotiations, customer programs, and commercial investments.
- Partner with Pricing, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure commercially effective and compliant customer solutions.
- Evaluate financial impact of new commercial offerings, reimbursement changes, and market dynamics.
- Monitor and optimize profitability across products, customers, channels, and geographies.
Operating Expense & Resource Management
- Lead management of commercial operating expenses, including headcount, T&E, professional services, and other discretionary spending.
- Partner with business leaders and HR to develop workforce plans aligned with strategic priorities.
- Establish governance processes to ensure disciplined investment decisions and efficient resource allocation.
Performance Management & Analytics
- Deliver actionable insights through business performance reviews, dashboards, and management reporting.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify drivers of financial performance.
- Leverage digital technologies, automation, and data visualization tools to improve business transparency and decision support.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes and enhance productivity.
Controls, Compliance & Governance
- Maintain a strong control environment consistent with SOX, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure financial integrity, compliance, and transparency across all commercial finance activities.
- Support governance committees and approval processes related to pricing, contracting, and commercial investments.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of finance professionals.
- Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Promote Johnson & Johnson leadership behaviors and Credo-based decision-making.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance experience within FP&A, commercial finance, business partnering, accounting, or related functions.
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior commercial or business leaders in a complex matrix organization.
- Strong financial planning, forecasting, business case development, and analytical skills.
- Experience leading teams and developing talent.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with commercial, marketing, operations, HR, compliance, and finance partners.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and drive organizational change.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems and planning tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience within MedTech, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences industries.
- Experience supporting pricing, contracting, and commercial excellence initiatives.
- Knowledge of SOX controls, compliance frameworks, and financial governance processes.
- Experience with SAP, Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Power BI, TM1, Hyperion, or related systems.
- Demonstrated success leading transformation, automation, or digital finance initiatives.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$150,000-$258,750
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
