Business Analysis
- Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process walkthroughs across life insurance functions.
- Produce high-quality BA artifacts including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, data dictionaries, traceability matrices, and use cases.
- Conduct gap analysis between current-state and future-state workflows across new business, underwriting, policy administration, renewals, claims, and surrenders.
- Translate regulatory and business requirements into functional specifications for technology delivery .
Product and Platform Ownership
- Own and maintain a prioritized backlog aligned to business and technology roadmaps.
- Define clear user stories with acceptance criteria that engineering teams can execute effectively.
- Support planning, refinement, review, and delivery governance to ensure timely and high-quality implementation.
- Make prioritization decisions balancing business value, risk, scope, and delivery timelines
Product Coverage
- Oversee business analysis for agency, customer, credit life, group life, and ordinary life product platforms.
- Map end-to-end product journeys and ensure requirements support policy lifecycle activities including illustration, application, underwriting, issuance, servicing, claims, maturity, and surrender.
- Partner with actuarial, compliance, legal, operations, and distribution teams to ensure product requirements are commercially viable and operationally sound.
Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between business SMEs, technology teams, QA, data, compliance, and leadership stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate roadmap updates, risks, and dependencies proactively.
- Partner with UX/UI teams to define customer and agent experience requirements.
- Drive UAT planning, scenario design, and business sign-off cycles.
Leadership and Governance
- Mentor and guide junior business analysts, establishing standards for documentation, estimation, and quality.
- Support governance, issue resolution, and decision-making across multiple workstreams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in business analysis practices, delivery discipline, and operational effectiveness.
Education & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in life insurance business analysis or related product/platform roles.
- Strong experience across life insurance products, including group life and credit life.
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end requirements delivery, process modelling, and UAT.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and technology delivery teams in a complex environment.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and backlog ownership
Technical Competencies
- Life insurance product lifecycle: illustration, application, underwriting, policy issuance, servicing, claims, maturity/surrender
- Product types: Term Life, Whole Life, Endowment, ULIPs, Group Life, Credit Life, Annuities, Riders
- Actuarial concepts: sum assured, premium calculation, mortality tables, surrender values, bonus declarations
- Reinsurance structures in life: quota share, YRT, co-insurance
- Agent/broker distribution models, commission structures, and persistency management
- Life insurance data concepts: in-force policies, lapse ratios, claims incurred, reserving, embedded value.
- JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent Agile backlog tools
- Process modelling: BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart, or equivalent
- Ability to interpret SQL queries and insurance data models; writing SQL a strong plus
- Familiarity with API/integration concepts (REST, SOAP) for policy admin system integrations
- Life insurance core platforms: LifePro, FAST, OIPA, Majesco Life, or equivalent
- MI/reporting tools: Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent — ability to validate data outputs
