Your role

We are looking for a senior eCommerce Merchandise Manager Optical to lead the merchandising strategy for our online optical business. The role will be responsible for shaping the assortment strategy, driving commercial performance, supporting product launches and turning data-driven insights into clear business actions across global eCommerce banners.

This position reports directly to the Global eCommerce Merchandising Director and will work closely with Category Management, Planning, eCommerce Business teams, RX Operations, Marketing, Finance and local market teams.

Main responsibilities

- Define and execute the e-commerce merchandising strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities.

- Develop assortment plans and product mix strategies across banners and markets, optimizing brand, category, and pricing architecture.

- Partner with Category Management teams to drive online-exclusive launches, limited editions, private label initiatives, and distribution strategies.

- Translate new collection launches and product roadmaps into actionable merchandising plans for e-commerce, site merchandising, and local market teams.

- Lead promotional and markdown strategies, including seasonal campaigns, flash sales, Cyber Week, and key commercial events, balancing growth and profitability.

- Define pricing, discount, and clearance strategies to maximize inventory productivity, margin performance, and customer value.

- Monitor sales, margin, traffic, conversion, and assortment performance, identifying opportunities to improve commercial results across digital channels.

- Deliver product performance analysis, merchandising reviews, and actionable insights to support data-driven business decisions and strategic planning.

- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Category Management, RX Operations, Marketing, and local teams to ensure consistent commercial execution.

- Lead merchandising activities for strategic growth initiatives, including AI Glasses and other innovation programs, supporting forecasting, distribution planning, assortment evolution, and performance optimization.

Main requirements

- At least 10 years of experience in eCommerce merchandising, digital retail, category management, buying, planning or commercial strategy.

- Strong experience in optical, eyewear, fashion, retail or consumer goods is highly preferred.

- Proven ability to manage assortment strategy, commercial campaigns, markdowns, product launches and performance analysis.

- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to connect product performance, customer behavior, sales, margin and inventory data.

- Solid business acumen and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix organization.

- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and markets at the same time.

- Clear communication style and ability to translate complex information into simple, actionable recommendations.

- Fluent English is required; additional languages are a plus.

Salary Package

- Annual Gross Salary: 50.000 Eur – 55.000 Eur

- Performance Bonus: An additional Management by Objectives (MBO) bonus as percentage of the annual gross salary.
