About Our Team

Lenovo's AI Ecosystem organization is seeking an experienced PMO Lead to drive delivery execution, governance, and cross-functional coordination across Agile Release Trains (ARTs). Leading a team of RTEs, Release Managers, and Technical Project Managers, this role serves as the delivery "control tower," ensuring predictable execution, integrated planning, risk and dependency management, release readiness, and executive visibility across the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings deep Agile/SAFe expertise and a proven track record delivering AI-native products in partnership with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Quality, Security, Privacy, Legal, and Operations teams, while incorporating AI governance, compliance, and operational requirements into delivery planning and execution.
Location: Open to Remote Work in the US, Chicago, IL is highly preferred.

What You'll Do

Program Leadership & Governance

- Lead delivery execution across one or more Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

- Manage and coordinate Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Release Managers, and Pod-Level Technical Project Managers/Scrum Masters.

- Establish governance forums, operating cadences, escalation paths, and executive reporting mechanisms.

- Align delivery execution with strategic objectives, business priorities, and external commitments.

- Establish lifecycle gates with defined criteria, required evidence, accountable owners, and escalation paths.

- Facilitate evidence-based milestone decisions and ensure residual risks are documented and appropriately accepted.

- Align product roadmaps and strategic priorities with delivery plans, measurable outcomes, and post-launch learning.

- Maintain end-to-end program integrity by aligning plans, dependencies, decisions, risks, readiness evidence, and business outcomes across the delivery lifecycle

Integrated Planning & Delivery Management

- Drive integrated planning across pods, ARTs, releases, and key business milestones.

- Ensure alignment of PI objectives, release commitments, dependencies, and capacity plans.

- Facilitate prioritization, sequencing, trade-off decisions, and recovery planning.

- Coordinate delivery execution across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Quality, Security, and Legal teams.

- Support delivery predictability through proactive planning and execution management.

- Maintain integrated plans across teams, platforms, shared services, partners, and critical dependencies.

- Define ownership, due dates, acceptance conditions, confidence levels, and escalation paths for key commitments, dependencies, and decisions.

- Identify critical-path issues, coordinate corrective actions, and escalate risks to delivery or release readiness.

Risk, Dependency & Issue Management

- Establish visibility into program-level risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions.

- Manage cross-pod and cross-ART dependencies.

- Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation, and escalation activities.

- Coordinate resolution of delivery blockers impacting execution commitments.

- Ensure timely decision-making and issue resolution across stakeholders.

- Identify technical, AI quality, customer, security, privacy, legal, accessibility, and operational risks early in the lifecycle.

- Track risk aging, late-risk discovery, mitigation progress, and corrective-action closure.

- Ensure material risks have documented owners, mitigation plans, target dates, and escalation thresholds.

Release Planning & Readiness

- Oversee release planning, readiness reviews, integration planning, and milestone execution.

- Ensure delivery commitments are supported by objective readiness criteria and evidence.

- Coordinate testing, dependency validation, and operational readiness activities.

- Support recovery planning and delivery interventions for at-risk commitments.

- Drive predictable and high-quality release outcomes.

- Establish consistent, evidence-based release readiness criteria covering testing, AI quality, operational support, monitoring, controlled rollout, and rollback readiness.

- Coordinate cross-functional readiness reviews and facilitate timely go or no-go decisions, including documentation.

- Ensure release plans address customer impact, support, communications, incident response, and post-launch ownership.

- Lead post-launch reviews and ensure identified actions are assigned, tracked, and closed.

Continuous Improvement & Agile Enablement

- Facilitate Inspect & Adapt events and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Drive adoption of Lean-Agile and SAFe practices across ARTs.

- Improve governance, planning, reporting, and delivery management processes.

- Support alignment between strategic objectives and execution.

- Enable scaling of delivery management practices across additional ARTs.

- Use post-launch outcomes, customer feedback, quality signals, incidents, and delivery metrics to improve future releases.
- Standardize delivery practices across ARTs while tailoring governance to product risk and organizational maturity.

Basic Qualifications

- 12+ years of program, portfolio, or large-scale delivery management experience.

- 5+ years working within Agile and SAFe delivery organizations.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification required.

- Proven experience leading complex cross-functional programs from planning through execution.

- Experience managing or leading Release Train Engineers, Program Managers, Technical Project Managers, or equivalent delivery leadership roles.

- Experience operating in large-scale software, AI-Native, digital transformation, or product delivery environments.

- Experience integrating responsible AI, security, privacy, legal, accessibility, quality, and regulatory requirements into delivery governance.

- Experience leading evidence-based lifecycle gates, release-readiness reviews, and post-launch reviews.

- Experience coordinating operational monitoring, controlled rollout, support readiness, incident response, and rollback planning.

Preferred Qualifications

- SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) certification preferred.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Ability to translate complex delivery, readiness, risk, and compliance information into actionable executive recommendations.
- Strong background in governance, stakeholder engagement, release management, and organizational alignment.

- Additional Agile certifications are a plus.

- AI, cloud, or data platform certifications are a plus.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
The anticipated annual compensation range for this position is 212,600–325,910 USD . Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and business considerations.
