Job Description:
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections, monitoring critical process control points, identifying production abnormalities, and supporting corrective and preventive actions within a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with production and other cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues, analyze process data, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
The position requires strong knowledge of quality management tools, statistical process control, and manufacturing quality standards, with the ability to respond promptly to production-line issues and maintain accurate quality records.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections at key process control points and verify process change points to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Promptly identify and address abnormalities occurring on the production line.
- Conduct daily reviews of defective modules, investigate related issues, and identify root causes.
- Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) testing for critical positions and inspection equipment.
- Audit the competency of personnel working in critical quality positions.
- Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and identify trends, deviations, and potential quality concerns.
- Manage the preparation, selection, testing, and follow-up of reliability samples.
- Drive and follow up on corrective actions resulting from daily quality audits.
- Summarize and analyze weekly quality data and communicate findings to relevant teams.
- Support process improvement initiatives by collecting, consolidating, analyzing, and reporting process and quality data.
- Provide timely support to production teams when quality issues occur and assist with resolution efforts.
- Complete additional quality-related assignments and improvement initiatives as directed by management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in quality control, quality inspection, manufacturing quality, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and other quality management techniques.
- Ability to apply the Seven QC Tools for quality analysis and problem-solving.
- Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other common office software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality abnormalities in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively with production and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyze quality data and communicate findings clearly.
- Commitment to quality, safety, continuous improvement, and established manufacturing procedures.
Experience-Based Compensation:
- 0–2 years: $20.00/hr + $0.75/hr night shift differential.
- 2–4 years: $21.00/hr + $1.00/hr night shift differential.
- 5–8 years: $24.00/hr + $1.00/hr night shift differential.
- Senior Quality Inspector: $28.00/hr + $1.00/hr night shift differential. Requires 5+ years of relevant quality experience, including solar manufacturing experience, with demonstrated advanced inspection and problem-solving capabilities.
