Job Description
What We Want
The Research Assistant will provide general research, program, administrative, outreach, and data support for assigned projects. Responsibilities may include communicating with schools, organizations, or other program participants, preparing and organizing project materials, entering and maintaining data, reviewing information for accuracy, assisting with mailings and correspondence, and providing other research or program support as needed. The Research Assistant may collaborate with research and program personnel in support of assigned projects.

- May require occasional travel.

Essential Duties/Tasks
Research and Data Support
- Enter, update, review, and maintain information in existing datasets, spreadsheets, databases, or other research and program records.
- Review source materials and supporting documentation to ensure information is entered accurately and consistently.
- Assist with data collection, data coding, and maintenance of research or program information.
- Assist with maintaining organized and accurate research and project documentation.
- Perform validation or quality review procedures as needed to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Follow established procedures for handling confidential, sensitive, or personally identifiable information.
Outreach and Communication
- Utilize mail, email, and telephone communication to contact schools, organizations, research participants, program participants, or other stakeholders.
- Assist with securing participation, obtaining information, providing project information, and conducting appropriate follow-up.
- Maintain records of outreach activities, responses, and participation.
- Communicate and collaborate with research and program personnel regarding assigned outreach activities.
Research Materials and Administrative Support
- Prepare, print, organize, collate, and distribute research or program materials, surveys, correspondence, or mailings.
- Perform appropriate checks to ensure materials and information are complete and accurate.
- Assist with reports, records, correspondence, and other research or project documentation.
- Assist with general administrative and organizational needs related to assigned research projects and programs.
Additional Research Support
- Assist with special projects, data coding, document review, translation services, or other research and program activities as needed.
- Provide additional support to research and program personnel as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- None required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in research support, administrative support, program support, education, outreach, customer service, data entry, or a related area.
- Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, surveys, records, or other data management systems.
- Experience communicating with schools, organizations, research participants, program participants, or other stakeholders.
- Experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Experience supporting research, survey, educational, or community-based projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to accurately enter, review, organize, and maintain information.
- Ability to communicate effectively through telephone, email, written correspondence, and in person.
- Ability to organize materials and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and follow established procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive or personally identifiable information.
- Attention to detail.
