Basic Function
HF Sinclair's Operations and Industrial Applications, Senior IT Analyst provides partnership, direction, and guidance to Midstream Operations leaders and stakeholders to ensure business goals are supported through effective technology solutions and services. This role serves as the primary liaison between IT and Midstream Operations, helping translate operational priorities into technology needs, capability roadmaps, demand, and delivery plans. The position partners across pipeline, terminal, logistics, measurement, commercial, safety, environmental, maintenance, reliability, and field operations teams to identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, compliance, efficiency, data visibility, and business performance. The IT Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor to Midstream leadership, promotes IT services, manages demand and prioritization, and helps ensure technology investments are aligned with HF Sinclair objectives, operating needs, and enterprise standards. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, broad knowledge of Midstream processes and enabling technologies, and the ability to influence decisions across business and IT teams to deliver practical, value-driven outcomes.
Job Duties
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Midstream Operations leadership and key stakeholders across pipeline, terminal, logistics, measurement, commercial, maintenance, reliability, safety, environmental, and field operations.
- Serve as the primary IT liaison for Midstream Operations, connecting business priorities with IT strategy, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, applications, data, and project delivery teams.
- Develop and maintain Midstream technology roadmaps that support operational reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, asset integrity, field productivity, commercial processes, and data-driven decision making.
- Gather, clarify, and prioritize business needs through the agreed demand management process, ensuring requests are aligned with business value, risk, IT capacity, and enterprise standards.
- Partner with Business Analysts, Enterprise Architects, Solution Owners, and delivery teams to translate Midstream business requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Provide strategic consulting and delivery oversight for cross-functional Midstream initiatives, including pipeline and terminal operations, field mobility, asset management, work management, measurement, logistics, commercial systems, analytics, and operational data platforms.
- Promote technology solutions that improve safe and reliable operations, reduce manual work, strengthen compliance, improve visibility to operational performance, and enable better decision making.
- Support business case development by helping define expected benefits, costs, risks, scope, adoption needs, and measurable outcomes for Midstream technology investments.
- Communicate IT priorities, project status, risks, dependencies, and service impacts to Midstream stakeholders in clear business terms.
- Manage business expectations based on IT resource availability, delivery timelines, support models, cybersecurity requirements, and enterprise governance processes.
- Coordinate across IT and business teams to support system availability, reliability, security, data integrity, and operational continuity for critical Midstream applications and services.
- Identify opportunities to leverage common enterprise platforms, innovative technologies, and process standardization while respecting site, asset, and operating model differences.
- Maintain awareness of Midstream industry trends, operational technology, automation, data and analytics, AI-enabled capabilities, regulatory drivers, and emerging technologies relevant to pipeline and terminal operations.
- Promote a business-focused, results-oriented IT culture that emphasizes service, partnership, practical delivery, and measurable business value.
Experience
- 10 plus years of IT experience or relevant industry expertise supporting operations, logistics, commercial, asset management, maintenance, reliability, EHS, or related functions is required.
- History partnering with operational business leaders to translate business needs into technology roadmaps, demand, projects, and measurable outcomes is required.
- Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise business systems supporting work management, procurement, finance, logistics, inventory, maintenance, or commercial processes is required.
- Demonstrated success influencing stakeholders, aligning priorities, and communicating technology concepts to non-technical business audiences is required.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting Midstream, pipeline, terminal, transportation, logistics, measurement, or related energy operations is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with systems and capabilities such as SCADA, terminal automation, measurement, scheduling, order-to-cash, GIS, field mobility, asset management, work management, analytics, and operational data platforms is preferred.
- Financial acumen to support business case creation, prioritization, benefit tracking, and value measurement is highly preferred.
- Ability to work across corporate, field, and remote teams, including suppliers, partners, and internal IT delivery organizations.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree required

- Master's Degree preferred
Required Skills
- Strong business relationship management, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to understand Midstream operational processes and connect them to technology capabilities, risks, and value opportunities.
- Project, program, or product management experience supporting medium to large industrial initiatives.
- Ability to align enterprise standards with practical field and operational needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify technical topics for business audiences.
