About this role

We're currently hiring for a Sourcing Specialist on behalf of a client in Alachua, FL! Job Description The Sourcing Specialist will develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for direct material categories within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for identifying and managing suppliers, optimizing cost and quality, mitigating supply risk, and ensuring sourcing strategies align with broader business and operational objectives. Responsibilities

- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct materials, mechanical components, and other critical production materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, performance, and supply reliability.
- Manage supplier relationships and drive ongoing supplier performance improvement through regular reviews and collaboration.
- Lead supplier negotiations and support the development, execution, and management of contracts and supplier agreements.
- Identify and deliver cost-reduction opportunities through market research, supplier negotiations, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Conduct market and supplier analysis to evaluate pricing trends, supplier capabilities, market conditions, and potential sourcing risks.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure sourcing strategies support business and operational needs.
- Support Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, inventory considerations, capacity analysis, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Ensure suppliers meet applicable procurement, regulatory, confidentiality, sustainability, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve supplier issues related to cost, quality, capacity, delivery, and overall performance.
- Manage RFQ, RFP, and RFI processes to solicit competitive bids and evaluate supplier proposals.
- Support supplier development activities to improve supplier capabilities, quality, and reliability.
- Collaborate on purchase order execution and contract administration to ensure accurate and timely procurement activities.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and data-driven analysis to support cost analysis, market analysis, and sourcing decisions.
- Support projects involving sourcing initiatives, supplier transitions, and continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

- Minimum of 3 years of strategic sourcing experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience sourcing direct materials, mechanical components, or other production-related commodities.
- Proven experience with supplier negotiations, including commercial terms and long-term agreements.
- Hands-on experience with contract negotiation and contract management.
- Experience with supplier development and supplier performance management.
- Strong experience in direct procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, and vendor management.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and strategic sourcing methodologies.
- Experience sourcing technical, mechanical, or industrial components preferred.
- Ability to perform cost analysis, cost control, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments.
- Experience conducting market analysis to evaluate pricing, supplier capabilities, and supply risks.
- Experience managing RFQ, RFP, and RFI processes.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and sourcing-related calculations.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Experience supporting supplier quality, purchase order, and contract processes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate supply-base risks.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Alachua, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
