Aston Carter is hiring an Inside Sales Administrator! Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, and web leads, providing prompt and professional service.
- Qualify and nurture leads, provide detailed product information, generate accurate quotes, and follow up consistently to close orders.
- Maintain up-to-date pricing, product availability, and lead times, and recommend alternative products or solutions when needed.
- Prepare and send proposals, formal quotations, and sales acknowledgements to customers.
- Upsell related components, maintenance contracts, or expedited services when appropriate to enhance customer value.
- Enter and manage sales orders in ERP systems, verifying part numbers, bills of material (BOMs), and customer specifications for accuracy.
- Coordinate order acceptance, production routing, scheduling, and shipping with production, purchasing, and logistics teams.
- Track order status and proactively communicate any delays, changes, or issues to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Generate and distribute sales documents such as packing lists, invoices, and certificates of compliance.
- Answer inbound calls, respond to web forms and online inquiries, and ensure all customer requests are routed and resolved efficiently.
- Maintain accurate customer records, pricing lists, product files, and quote/order history within ERP and CRM systems.
- Prepare routine reports for management, including sales metrics, backlog summaries, and outstanding quotes.
- Assist with inventory checks, purchase requisitions for common stock items, and vendor follow-up as needed.
- Route technical questions to the appropriate internal resources and ensure timely follow-up.
- Schedule calls, conference calls, meetings, and site visits to support sales and project coordination.
- Collaborate with engineering and estimating teams to clarify specifications, subassemblies, wiring diagrams, and approvals.
- Review customer drawings and documentation for completeness, and escalate technical issues when necessary.
- Support marketing activities by updating product listings and assisting with tradeshow logistics and sales collateral.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of inside sales, customer service, or administrative experience, preferably in manufacturing, electrical, or controls industries.
- Demonstrated experience in sales support, order inquiries, customer support, and administrative support functions.
- Proficiency with CRM and ERP systems such as Salesforce, Epicor, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Strong skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with inside sales processes, account management, and basic sales operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- High level of attention to detail and organization, with the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities simultaneously.
- Basic technical aptitude to read part numbers, simple schematics, and bills of material (BOMs).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Technical familiarity with electrical control panels, PLCs, relays, enclosures, and wiring is preferred.
- Experience supporting marketing activities such as updating product listings and assisting with tradeshow logistics.
- Experience in working with custom or engineered products is beneficial.
Work Environment This is an onsite role in a friendly, "mom-and-pop" style environment that offers a positive and supportive atmosphere. The workspace is often air-conditioned and designed to support focused administrative and sales activities. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a stable routine with weekends off. The company is fast-growing and works on a wide range of projects, from local wastewater facilities to national retail accounts, creating a dynamic and varied workload. Inside sales plays a crucial role as the primary liaison between customers and engineering, contributing directly to the success and growth of the business. A commission structure is available upon conversion to a permanent role, offering additional earning potential aligned with performance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clearwater, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
