About the role

EIC Activities is seeking an experienced GIS Manager to join our team in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney .

The GIS Manager is responsible for leading and developing EIC's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) capability. The role will develop the minimum acceptable standards and strive for consistency of systems and implementation across all CIMIC OpCos. The objective is to ensure the effective delivery of spatial services across bids, projects and business operations.

The role provides strategic direction, technical leadership and governance for GIS and spatial information management, supporting project delivery, digital engineering initiatives and business growth. The GIS Manager is accountable for building capability, establishing best practice, maintaining data integrity and driving innovative spatial solutions that enhance decision-making and project outcomes across the broader CIMIC Group.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development, growth and continuous improvement of EIC's and CIMIC’s GIS capability by developing a minimum acceptable suite of systems and operating protocols, and then implementing an appropriate governance framework
- Support major bids, tenders and projects through the provision of GIS and spatial expertise.
- Identify opportunities to leverage GIS technologies to improve business performance and project outcomes.
- Contribute to resource planning, workforce capability and achievement of business objectives.
- Drive innovation and adoption of emerging GIS technologies, tools and methodologies.
- Ensure the cost of GIS services is recovered in accordance with developed EIC operating protocols
- Ensure that GIS remains an important integrated cog in CIMIC’s overall suite of digital project delivery tools and systems

About you

- Degree qualification in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, Spatial Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant GIS software certifications and technical training.
- Current knowledge of GIS platforms, spatial data management and digital engineering practices.
- Extensive experience leading GIS and spatial information services within infrastructure, transport, utilities, resources, energy or major project environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and developing organisational GIS capability.
- Strong knowledge of GIS platforms, spatial databases, web mapping and digital engineering environments.
